The Provosts Office seeks a Project Assistant to contribute critical support to the rapidly growing system of assessment across the university. The successful candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and data management tasks; have experience in data analysis and visualization; have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to explain research to a wide variety of audiences; be comfortable balancing the needs of multiple concurrent projects; and be comfortable working collaboratively, independently, and proactively.

Duties include:

  • Preparing materials for assessment, including scrubbing confidential material and adjusting format for usability.

  • Creating assessment materials such as rubrics, surveys, and questionnaires in collaboration with the Director of Assessment.

  • Collaborating with others to create and document a data management system.

  • Providing attention to accuracy, detail, and process in collecting and managing data.

  • Analyzing data and creating data visualizations that support the goals of the assessment.

  • Using the data to develop narratives to explain key concepts to a variety of audiences (including programs, divisions, the provosts office, and external audiences).

Our innovative curriculum allows students to complete both their undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees in seven years. CSOM will graduate its first MD class in 2020. CSOM also has a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies (PA). Our PA Program is a 28-month graduate program leading to a M.S. degree and certification as a Physician Assistant pending successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination. We are one of the first degree-granting physician assistant programs in the country. Our mission is to provide access to medical education to talented youth from social, ethnic and racial backgrounds historically under-represented in medicine and to develop health professionals committed to practicing in under-served communities with a special emphasis on primary care. Medical Distinguished Lecturers perform teaching in areas of expertise and related clinical and faculty duties. Are experienced practitioners or teachers who hold a full-time, non-tenure track position with a maximum appointment period of seven years, subject to annual reappointment. Distinguished Lecturers share responsibility for committee, program, and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. The Physician Assistant Program is currently searching for a Medical Distinguished Lecturer to serve as Research and Assessment Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean/Program Director, duties will include: Teaching PA 50220 Preventive Medicine, PA 70110 Epidemiology, PA 70210 Research Methods, Developing research capstone project. Examples are: 1) Evidence-based inquiry of clinical subject, and 2) Community Oriented Primary Care-based inquiry. Program Administration duties include: * Periodic course and program assessment * Developing annual comprehensive assessment of student outcomes * Participating in all program committees * Helping identify faculty development projects and areas of research * Developing scholarly projects and participates in PAEA * Serving as a Faculty Advisor for students * Participating in the duties necessary for program maintenance of accreditation * Participating in program faculty/staff search committees QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree is required, doctoral degree preferred. Must have knowledge of and commitment to the physician assistant profession. Also required are a record of achievement in his/her profession or field of expertise and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
