Position Summary:

Perform a wide variety of duties to assemble and function-test manipulators and other products involving close tolerances. Rotate through all areas of assembly as required by shop production workload. Work toward building additional skills in various assembly areas to increase proficiency and flexibility. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

Assembly I

  • Assemble assigned jobs at designated workstation

  • Work from blueprints to assemble and test completed assemblies within allotted timeframe as indicated on Production Control Board

  • Test completed assemblies to insure conformance with assembly area-specific performance test specifications

  • Investigate and correct any problems noted

  • Confer with Inspectors as needed on questions regarding part or operation quality

  • Rotate between manipulator assembly and plastics assembly

  • Consistently meet allotted assembly times

Assembly II

  • All Assembly I duties listed above

  • Proficiently assemble, test repair and crate Manipulator models GLD, GLDC, GHDE, and G & GHD with Variable Z option

  • Test completed assemblies to insure conformance with assembly area-specific performance test specifications

  • Rotate between manipulator assembly, plastics assembly and transfer assembly areas

  • Basic leak test certification

Assembly III

  • All assembly I & II duties listed above

  • Proficient in assembling, testing and repairing Manipulator models E, EHD, 7, R, 8, F and Versa with Variable Z option

  • Assemble, test and repair manipulator electrical packages within allotted production board or route sheet timeframes accurately

  • Proficient in transfer assembly and advanced Leak test certification

Experience:

  • Requires an advanced skill level in various assembly areas

  • Must meet or exceed posted route sheet timelines with accuracy and skill

  • Minimum 2 years working in a manufacturing environment required

  • Minimum 2 years completing complex assemblies, computer skills, blue print reading, interpreting and writing with strong mechanical aptitude required

  • Must be able to work effectively under deadlines and delegate responsibilities

  • Experience with MS Word and MS Excel

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Flexible, with strong teamwork orientation

  • Use a variety of fixtures, hand and power tools and precision measuring devices during operations.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

We ask you to please carefully read the instructions below We anticipate the need for a Fleet Tech II, to be located at the Red Wing Garage in Red Wing, Minnesota. Job Responsibilities (May include, but not limited to the following) Inspect service, repair and maintain vehicles, trailers, aerials and power operated equipment. Work may be performed primarily in company service garages as well as occasional job site field work. Individual(s) selected must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. Individual must be highly motivated, customer service driven, detail oriented and quality focused. Position will involve frequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs as well as prolonged standing. The ability to inspect, service and diagnose as well as properly make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline and diesel systems are key success factors for this position. This position will work a Monday through Friday schedule which is normally from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Qualifications * High school diploma or GED * A two year technical, vocational or trade school diploma in automotive, truck, and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance with a minimum of five years verifiable experience in these defined fields is required * Successful applicant must meet all requirements of FMCSR Parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL Class A) * The individual must either currently have or be able to obtain a Minnesota annual vehicle inspectors certification * Applicant must have the ability to read/write and understand the English language, perform basic mathematics and possess basic computer skills * Successful applicant must furnish standard and metric tools in accordance with the Fleet department's required tool list * A high level of safety awareness with a demonstrated commitment to working safely at all times is required Special Requirements * Ability to lift 50 or more pounds routinely * Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications desired. * Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment * Must live within 20 miles from Service Center _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Steps in Xcel Energy's hiring process * All qualified candidates will be sent an online assessment via e-mail.
