Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Sr. Group Leader and with general to minimal supervision, perform specialized assembly operations and testing on prototype assemblies for the Memory operations cell.

Work from blueprints, assembly drawings, schematics, written process descriptions, visual process descriptions, mil specifications, and verbal instructions.

Perform complicated and intricate electro mechanical assembly operations and specialized electronic testing. Construct intricate, complicated assemblies and perform general assembly tasks which may include assembly mechanism shimming, IPC J-STD-001 Soldering, surface mount soldering, bench testing and associated assembly adjustments, conformal coating, spray painting, specialized in-process testing requiring operation of an associated software program, resistance welding, operation of precision assembly equipment (automated or semi-automated). Assist with the set up various production test equipment and assist in troubleshoot and repair of electronic assembly failures to subassembly and/or component level.

Set-up and operate test equipment including leak detectors, thermal cycling chambers, mechanically fixtured testers and multimeters. Set up and operate standard assembly processing equipment including ovens as required by program or project. Perform final acceptance (ATP) testing, ESS testing, environmental testing, and in-process testing. Interpret and analyze test data and troubleshoot any unusual performance variations.

Work with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering personnel in process optimization studies and tooling improvements. Work with Test Engineering in the general maintenance of Test Equipment.

Assist in the training of lower classified employees in various departmental operations as needed or directed. Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and statistical process control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures and products.

Capabilities shall include the documentation and recording of completed testing and the rework or repair of production products. Assist in the assessment of product or equipment failures and the development of standard rework procedures.

Perform rework or repair of components, complex assemblies or production equipment to insure the smooth and continuous flow of the production process. Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and associated software such as word-processing, spreadsheets and Software programming associated with various test equipment or automated assembly equipment.

Qualifications

High School or Equivalent and 3-5 years in manufacturing environment
