Position Summary

This position will be responsible for operating an automated machine that assembles individual components into a completed assembly as well as hand assembling components into finished products using special machines, hand tools, fixtures, and water testing units. The Hand/Auto Assembly Operator will be required to use tools such as rulers and calipers, as well as lift heavy boxes and reels of tubing. The operator will also be responsible for changing machine configurations based on the jobs that need to be run, as well as training new Auto Assembly Operators.

Essential Functions

• Uses a scale properly to weigh parts

• Uses a ruler and calipers to measure parts

• Inspects the quality of parts produced

• Set-ups and takes down of fixtures hand drills and other tools

• Performs changeovers after a job is completed

• Changes parts out of the machines as necessary

• Follows appropriate safety policies and procedures of RDI as well as community and regulatory instruction. Utilizes all safety features of machinery, vehicles. Adheres to safety techniques as instructed. Corrects or reports safety hazards.

• Practices and applies all of the company core values on a daily basis

• Elevates other issues/concerns to appropriate party

• Completes all departmental documentation consistently, with attention to accuracy and timeliness

• Actively contributes to cleanliness and organization by keeping the work area tidy

• Willingly participates in training, puts training into practice quickly

• Trains fellow employees, including new hires and temporary employees as requested

• Reports all broken and malfunctioning equipment immediately.

• Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by RDI's policy. Records all time worked accurately and consistently using the timekeeping method provided by RDI.

• Willingly completes other duties as assigned.

• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
