Position description

The Assembly Operator I will perform simple manual assembly tasks to strict customer requirements. These tasks may include, but not limited to, inserting, working with adhesives, and part marking, of various Thermoplastic and Thermoset parts.

1st Shift Days/Hours

  • Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm

Essential functions include:

  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.

  • Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS. Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.

  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.

  • Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly

  • Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.

  • Record data, record and report problems, escalating them by the necessary protocol as they arise.

  • Ability to recognize defects

  • Demonstrate knowledge of micrometers, height stands, calipers, and indicators

  • Demonstrate all assembly related tasks with supervision.

  • Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, with minimal scrap, in a fast paced work environment

  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Cell Lead

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Basic computer and math skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to work in above ambient temperatures

  • Maintain high attendance standards

  • Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis

  • 6+ months experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 6+ months experience in an assembly role preferrred

  • This position is subject to export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified applicants for the position must meet the ITAR definition of "U.S. Person" at 22 C.F.R. 120.15 as a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual (including for example refugees and asylees).

This position is responsible for independent set-up and operation of injection molding machines.
