Assembler

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Performs set-ups, adjustments, operates machine(s) and properly maintains tooling.

2. Uses standardized set-up procedures and tooling to perform operations.

3. Position, align, and secure workpiece on assigned machine, while maintaining quality of part throughout operation.

4. Meets or exceeds production standards.

5. Maintains and ensures quality by regular inspection with standard measuring instruments meeting set standards.

6. Works from blueprint.

7. Uses a variety of precision measuring instruments, such as radial play gauge, regularly.

8. Recognizes operating irregularities and machine malfunctions and notifies Supervisor.

9. Works safely at all times and complies with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment and devices, keeping guards in place at all times.

10. Anticipates material requirement needs and notifies designated persons or Supervisor to avoid or minimize production delays.

11. Keeps work area, equipment, and machines in a clean and orderly fashion.

12. Offers suggestions relative to job improvements such as methods, procedures, housekeeping, safety, etc.

13. Rotates jobs on line, to help eliminate Cumulative Trauma Disorders.

14. Performs other miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed by Supervisor or other designated personnel.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 year experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment
• Hands on experience assembling mounted ball bears is preferred
• Experience operating a CNC machine is preferred

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. The ability to walk or stand on concrete floors for, potentially, most of an 8-hour shift.

2. The ability to climb ladders, bend, lean, squat, twist or stand on a platform 3 to 5 feet above floor level to pull orders as needed during the 8 -hour shift.

3. The ability to recognize part numbers while placed in storage rack.
