Position Overview

Responsible for performing various assembly operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The individual is responsible to perform a variety of assembly operations. Some operations may require working to close tolerances and strict inspection requirements.

  • Requires the ability to read and interpret Engineering documentation and work orders to select the proper parts and tools needed to produce acceptable product. Operations may involve the use of specialized assembly equipment and tools. All work is performed in a manner consistent with stated safety practices while maintaining output at or above the area average.

  • Observe and follow good housekeeping and safety practices. Check and document all equipment safety features on equipment daily to insure fail safe operation.

  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

Familiarity with manufacturing assembly processes and requires the ability to read and interpret Engineering documentation and work orders to select the proper materials and tools needed to produce acceptable product.

Education

High School Diploma

Posting Address 14 Prospect Dr Newtown CT Position Overview Complete a wide range of technical assignments which include developing new manufacturing methods and processes, providing input on tooling and machine designs, develop cost estimates and plant layouts, implementing cost improvement projects and managing plant environmental and regulatory compliance programs. The position interfaces directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Production Control, Quality, and Accounting to implement the division's technical objectives as they apply to the manufacturing operation. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and document manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment for new and modified product lines. Make recommendations as appropriate for tool and process changes aimed at improving overall efficiency and utilization of resources. Direct initial production run of assigned projects, to include operator training, work station layout, verification and documentation of prescribed manufacturing methods, and establish production standards. Request and evaluate quotations from vendors for equipment and services to be purchased, and recommend purchases based on such evaluations. Review engineering change notices for manufacturing process changes. Maintain standard data and documentation in SAP. Manage the plant environmental and regulatory compliance program. Provide ongoing daily support of the facility environmental, health and safety program(s). Skills and Experience Four year college degree and a minimum of two years of technically-related experience in a production environment working with manufacturing operations and Engineering are required. Knowledge of Lean Practices in a manufacturing environment, along with practical experience, is required.
