The Assembler assembles metal products, partially or completely, working at a bench or on the shop floor.
What you will do:
Observes and follows all safety rules
Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints
Audit production parts to maintain adequate stock to fulfill production needs
Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners
Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce a close fit between parts
Operates hand tools or portable power tools to assist in the assembly operation
May be required to work at different stations as production needs warrant
Operate overhead hoist to maneuver material
Operate Forklift to move products throughout the plant
Operate hand tools to assemble products
Operate power pallet jacks throughout the plant
Operate manual pallet jacks throughout the plant
Additional Qualifications Include:
High school diploma or GED is required
One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) of Silver or higher required
Up to 1 year of experience in some industry or combination of education and experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to read work instructions
Ability to use hand tools such as hand drills and air tools
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Basic skill level in computer programs such as Microsoft Office is highly desirable
Must be willing and able to be trained to assemble RX, 4-Posts, Swing Jacks, Brake Lathes and other products assembled at this facility. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
