SUMMARY

Fabricates and assembles furniture such as doors, drawers, wall case and base units, hardware, locks, etc. by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Lays out and marks reference points onto components.

Operates machines such as pneumatic drivers, stacking machine, and other assembly equipment to assemble components to specified dimensions.

Fits and assembles components.

Insulates doors with foam or fiber as specified if applicable.

Installs glass components as required, if applicable.

Packs completed units and trim per customer requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Knowledge of basic blueprints.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

VIEW JOBS 1/15/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-04-15T00:00 SUMMARY Responsible for formulating and managing all aspects of inventory and delivery of stains and topcoats for the Wood Finishing Dept. The candidate will use established procedures to mix stains consistently from a variety of raw materials to match both standard panels and those provided by customers. This position will develop and sustain Pump Room 6S structure, serve as a key resource on improving these procedures, and maintain documents verifying that all associated equipment is working properly. Serves as the in-house expert on all matters related to the formulation and use of finishing materials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Use log sheets and SPC to document the use and formulation of materials. * Understand and practice the concepts required to build and sustain a work area in accordance with Lean principles and the 6S philosophy. * Keep all Pump Room equipment in proper working order by performing basic maintenance tasks such as tightening hoses, cleaning filters, and connecting pumps and agitators. Keep all equipment clean including pumps, filters, regulators, agitators, buckets, weight scales, and work areas. Leaks and spills should be properly addressed and cleaned immediately. * Maintain material inventory levels based on the Kanban system to determine when and how to order materials. Determine proper Kanban levels that will ensure availability while minimizing onhand inventory. * Determine color consistency and matching both visually and with provided equipment. Master the ability to ascertain which raw materials to add to adjust stain colors as needed. * Remove empty drums and waste drums as necessary. Label waste drums as directed according to EHS procedures. * Manage the use of the solvent reclaim distillery. Ensure appropriate documentation and implementation of ways to continually minimize waste accumulation. * Demonstrate technical expertise for spraying stain and topcoat for samples and production standards. * Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team leaders, supervisors, and management regarding all issues that have an effect on successful production and environment. * Lead efforts in the Finishing Dept in regards to making improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. * Serve as a lead resource throughout other areas of Finishing in regards to stains and topcoats, loading/unloading finishing lines, and material handling.
