Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Assembly Supervisor and/or the Group Leader, the Assembler is responsible for operating and maintaining assembly equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company. Primary emphasis is in the Self Propelled, Tow Type, and hydraulic area

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


  • Assemble sweeping units according to prints by properly using various hand and power tools, i.e. electric and air powered drills, wrenches, grinders, nail/staple gun, paint gun, overhead crane, drill press, band saw, pallet jack, etc.

  • Perform all other assembly tasks such as: hydraulic installation, wiring, grinding, brake systems,touch up painting, plasma and weld as required to complete job assignment.

  • Trouble shoot hydraulic, electric and brake systems as required and check blueprint with parts.

  • Test package, crate, and/or prepare finished goods for shipment and/or removal to proper locations.

  • May drive hi-lo to load and unload trucks placing material in correct locations.

  • Perform all housekeeping duties.

  • Follow company safety practices and procedures to provide a safe work environment for all employees.

  • 8 Perform all other duties, as required, to meet customer and company quality and productivity needs.

Minimum Education/Experience/ Skills requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Requires advance knowledge of hydraulic, electric system, highly skilled in the use of all hand tools, electric, and air power along with some skills in wire feed welder and plasma.

  • Some knowledge in gas and diesel engines.

Physical demands:

  • Work indoors and outdoors (including when it rains and/ snows) as required.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent lifting (up to 125lbs), bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling can be expected.

  • Long periods of sitting, standing and walking can also be expected in this position.

  • Use of basic tools and equipment

Work environment:

  • Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing areas may be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.

  • The work environment could include their own workstation or cubicle space equipped with a telephone, computer and printer as required for the job.

  • Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely including walking and standing for long periods of time.

Requirements Job Qualifications/Requirements * High School Diploma or GED * 1-2 years of assembly experience preferred, optical mechanical assembly a plus. * English reading skills, following directions from reading. * Proficient in writing and math. * Computer navigation required, ERP system interface a plus. * Ability to problem solve. * College degree or applicable certifications a plus. * High attention to detail and self-motivation skills. * Open to specific training and certification and or continued education. * Open minded to be cross trained for other job tasks. * Ability to work alone or within teams. Physical abilities and Requirements * Regularly perform repetitive tasks * Regularly lift 10-50 lbs * Skilled in manual dexterity and small mechanical part manipulation with accuracy. * Vision standards may be applicable.
