Position Summary

Principal Activities

  • Under minimum supervision, perform mechanical assembly which is highly complex and requires fitting, aligning or adjusting of components or assemblies to close tolerance. Work may require knowledge of the following: hydraulics, pneumatics, fluids, and / or electronic principals with some soldering expertise. Will perform troubleshooting, tear down analysis and rework operations. Be proficient in Clean Room techniques. Perform various marking operations using machines, hand stamp and electro etching equipment.

  • This role requires products are assembled with zero defects in accordance with customer requirements. Customer instructions must be followed unless approval is given to override customer specification due to special circumstances. The qualified candidate will be responsible for communicating and relating information to leads, management, and other employees within the organization.

  • Mechanical skill and part handling ability

  • Strong communication ability

  • Ability to follow instructions, superb attention to detail and, verbatim compliance to procedure

  • Capable of using a variety of hand tools

  • Requires good manual dexterity and the ability to work with detailed blueprints, procedures, assembly sketches or other written / verbal instructions of simple complexity

  • Basic math skills needed to be able to calculate simple percentages regarding adjustment of set pressures

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists

  • Perform moderate trouble shooting with minimal supervision

  • Ability to embrace change and participate in continuous improvement activity

Education & Experience

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing environment performing mechanical assembly.

Narda MITEQ employs 600 highly technical individuals in the United States, Europe and Central America. This location is currently seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to oversee a department of 20 employees across multiple sites. The Micro-Electronics Assembler will work closely with, Manufacturing Engineering, Test and Inspection on existing and new products in a clean room environment. This position requires steady hands for handling ultra miniature materials which may only be visible through microscopes. The employee will be receive on the job training as needed but will need to be comfortable working independently. Individual will have daily assembly responsibilities with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: Assemble micro-electronic components using manual techniques with minimal supervision using provided work instructions. Utilizing processes such as: Die/substrate attach Gold ball bonding Wedge bonding Perform Continuous Process Improvement projects. Use good judgment and decision-making skills. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times. Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to determine root cause of failures and identify potential rework or repair opportunities. Maintain high ethical standards. Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs. Other responsibilities as assigned by Management. Hands on experience and understanding of micro-electronics product assembly processes, techniques, and tools such as die/substrate attach, gold ball bonding, wedge bonding, gap & laser welding. Previous experience in optoelectronic / microelectronic / hybrid / semiconductor assembly is needed. This position requires steady hands for handling ultra-miniature materials which may only be visible through microscopes. Duties include performing epoxy die attach, wire bonding, opto-mechanical assembly and soldering, optical testing. Must have the ability to work with intricate parts that require a high attention to detail. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Experience with new build and repair is a plus. Experience working in a clean room environment is a plus.
