Perform a variety of basic manual or machine assembly tasks associated with building Printed Wiring Board (PWB) or unit Assemblies for a variety of aerospace applications.

Typical duties/tasks include:

  • Assemble a variety of electronic units using proper assembly techniques

  • Identify correct parts, components, wires and other materials by part markings, color codes, container labels, etc.

  • Utilize a variety of hand tools (manual and power)

  • Solder electronic components

  • Operate simple assembly machines
  • Measure, mix and apply a variety of chemicals and adhesives

  • Perform measurements using basic measuring instruments

  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, process instructions and engineering standards

  • Utilize computer systems (e.g. work instructions, labor charging, and standards)

  • Process material requisitions in accordance with established procedures

  • Generate Non-Conforming Material (NCM) reject "short" tags with assistance

  • Check and verify per work instructions

  • Recognize and take steps to resolve assembly/work area issues

  • Perform material handling tasks

  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed

  • Train other employees and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands (representative)

Transport product with or without product carts;

lift up to 25 pounds unassisted;

sit and or stand at workbench / machines / flow line for extended periods of time;

bend, stoop, reach, turn as required;

use hands for extended periods of time to perform assembly (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation);

utilize magnification devices for extended periods of time to perform verification, assembly & soldering; distinguish colors and meet vision requirements.

Work Environment Characteristics (representative)

Work with manual / light power tools, products of various weights and sizes, high air pressure, medium to high temperature equipment / materials, enclosed x-ray and laser machines, equipment with moving parts, chemicals and adhesives that may emit fumes. Wear static-control and personal protective equipment.

Education /Certifications

High School diploma or equivalent, e.g. GED required, with Minimum of five (5) years directly related experience.

Or Associates Degree with minimum of 3 years directly related experience

Experience/Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years directly related experience.

Good reading and math skills;

Good computer aptitude;

Basic assembly aptitude;

Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions;

Ability to use basic measuring instruments and hand tools;

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others;

Ability to access and use computer systems (e.g. email, work instructions, attendance).

As an assembler with our team, you will have one of the most critical roles repairing units to keep our customers flying. Your primary responsibilities will be: Assembling a variety of electronic units using prescribed assembly techniques: Identifying correct parts, components, wires, and other materials Soldering electronic components and using other hand tools Operating assembly machines Measuring, mixing, and applying chemicals and adhesives Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, and engineering prints Effectively communicating work status to team members and support staff (e.g. shift pass down, engineering, maintenance) Working Environment: This is a 2nd shift opening as a 2nd shift assembler, your start time will be between 2:00 and 3:00 PM. While training, may need to work 1st shift hours. You may occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to meet customer needs. In your role, you will be exposed to: Products of various weights and sizes Equipment with moving parts Chemicals and adhesives that may emit fumes High temperature equipment/materials To minimize safety risk to you and product, you must wear static-control and personal protective equipment.
