Summary/Objective
The ASN Clinical Coordinator serves as a faculty and student resource for clinical learning experiences in the Pre-Licensure Nursing Division. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for program clinical processes such as, maintenance of clinical facility agreements, coordination of clinical onboarding, scheduling student clinical rotations, coordinator of adjunct clinical faculty, and liaison for clinical sites. The clinical coordinator works closely with college and program leadership.
Essential Job Duties
Coordinates and oversees clinical site requests and placement needs for student learning experiences in collaboration with program leadership and maintains student clinical rotation schedules throughout the semester.
Collaborate with academic partnerships on student advising and clinical scheduling
Recruit, onboard, and schedule clinical adjunct faculty each semester.
Assist with new faculty orientation to clinical setting, policies, and best practices.
Assist program leadership in developing clinical schedules for clinical, preceptor, LRC, simulation, and observation learning experiences
Participate in accreditation data collection, review, and analysis to maintain standards and criteria of the nursing accrediting body and the Missouri State Board of Nursing
Manage student and faculty issues in the clinical setting regarding exposures and collaborate with program/college leadership as needed
Assist faculty with clinical errors in the clinical setting and collaborate with program/college leadership as needed
Serve as the liaison with clinical partners for scheduling clinical sites
Participate in the evaluation of adjunct faculty in collaboration with program leadership
Round on adjunct instructors in the clinical setting throughout the semester
Maintain relationships with academic and community partners to support clinical experiences
Assist with community and Educational Engagement events both on and off campus.
Advise students in academic pursuits
Assist in the development and evaluation of curricula
Serve as program faculty as needed each semester.
Plan, assist, and/or attend college and department led events such as award ceremonies, focus groups, community sponsored events, community service events, etc.
Serve on committees as assigned
Maintain expertise in nursing and higher education through professional development opportunities
Comply with University guidelines regarding faculty duties and requirements
Participate in academic processions and wear academic regalia as required
Attend and participate in college and departmental meetings
Regular attendance and punctuality
Set an example of a Christian lifestyle for students, staff and faculty

Supervisory Responsibility
Position Requirements
Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Current and unencumbered RN license in the state of Missouri
Current BLS through the American Heart Association
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in higher education and/or education or leadership in a clinical nursing setting
Preferred
Master of Science in Nursing Education
Three years of teaching experience in higher education
Willingness to pursue a doctorate degree in nursing
Possess the ability to work positively with persons and groups of persons in the solution of problems and implementation of programs
Have the ability to delegate to others
Flexible with strong communication, problem solving, and organization skills
Work Environment
Physical Abilities
Educates students in a clinical and or laboratory setting and is able to communicate accurate information and ideas in these situations.
Works with laboratory equipment and moves equipment as needed and prepares the area for student to learn in a safe environment
Moves about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Works with medical/clinical equipment, moves equipment as needed and prepares the area for students to learn in a safe environment
