Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking for an experienced ASME Mechanical Engineer who possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in all facets of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a specific focus on the design, analysis, and inspection of pressure vessels in accordance with ASME standards.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

Key Duties:

  • Design and Analysis: Develop innovative and compliant designs for pressure vessels in adherence to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Utilize engineering principles and calculations to ensure designs meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Code Compliance: Serve as a subject matter expert on ASME standards, particularly the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Interpret and apply relevant code sections to ensure designs, materials, and manufacturing processes comply with all applicable regulations.

  • Review and Inspection: Conduct thorough reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to verify compliance with ASME standards and project requirements. Perform on-site inspections of pressure vessels during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design engineers, project managers, quality assurance, and manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless integration of ASME code requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, inspection records, and documentation detailing design calculations, compliance assessments, and inspection findings. Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and recommend corrective actions as needed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of advancements in ASME codes, industry best practices, and emerging technologies related to pressure vessel design and manufacturing. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Extensive experience working with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, including Section VIII, Division 1 and Division 2.

  • Proven track record of designing and analyzing pressure vessels using engineering software and calculation methods.

  • Strong understanding of materials selection, welding techniques, and non-destructive testing methods relevant to pressure vessel fabrication.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or power generation industries.

  • Certification(s) related to ASME codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section VIII Inspector, ASME Authorized Inspector).

  • Familiarity with industry-specific software tools such as PV Elite, Compress, and AutoCAD.

  • Knowledge of international pressure vessel codes and standards (e.g., API, EN, ISO).
