EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024 - 2025 School Year
SALARY: $22.64 - $23.70 hourly
$31.32-$32.59 hourly-AA/or higher from Interpreter Program/EIPA 4.0+
$36.41 - $37.94 hourly
SCHEDULE: Up to 6.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday
180 day - work year
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems
Must be proficient in ASL
Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hearing impaired
Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program
Patience and warmth in working with students
Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter
Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting
Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships
Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position)
Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting
Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Working with hearing impaired students
