The VISTA will work within ASHF's youth development department to secure long-term, diverse resources and expanding community partnerships that will further enhance programming for homeless youth. The project is intended to identify best practices, develop and coordinate resources, revise and update policies and procedures, and train staff to implement the updated procedures so ASHF can scale its services and thus better serve homeless individuals in Chicago-particularly those at high-risk for opioid use and abuse, ultimately helping them transition out of poverty by creating greater access to treatment.
The Resource Development Specialist will work to identify and develop community resources and contacts with community partners that are beneficial to the homeless youth population. The Resource Development Specialist will also establish and hold quarterly meetings with community organizations to share ideas, resources and best practices.
