Job Description: Arcadia University is seeking a full-time Arts Event and Marketing Coordinator with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as experience in planning, advertising, and coordinating student and community-centered events. The person in this position will be responsible for the coordination of, communication about, and collaboration on implementation of performances, recitals, exhibitions, lectures, receptions, open houses, and other arts-related events in a unified, holistic manner in collaboration with faculty and staff members who are designing and running these programs.

This individual will collaborate closely with academic departments and programs like, Marketing and Communications; Campus Life; Conferences and Event Services; University Advancement; Enrollment Management; the Office of Social Impact and Innovation; the Office for Access, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; and other relevant areas and programs to ensure that events provide maximum educational and promotional benefit to the institution, bolster fundraising and enrollment initiatives, and align with the University's lived values and adaptive strategy

This position is full-time, 10-month (August through May), and continuous, with the primary work periods occurring in the Fall and Spring semesters. Review of applications will begin on 7/1 and will continue until the position is filled.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage coordination of and communication about public events undertaken by the Departments of Visual and Performing Arts, Arcadia Exhibitions, and the

  • Department of Media and Communication, in collaboration with the faculty and staff.

  • Collaborate closely with the Division of Campus Life for University large scale programs and initiatives that connect the Departments of Visual and Performing

  • Arts, Arcadia Exhibitions, and the Department of Media and Communication to the larger university mission.

  • Communicate with the academic programs to organize and publish at the beginning of each semester/academic year a unified event calendar of exhibitions, productions, recitals, talks, etc.

  • Spearhead the marketing of those events both on and off campus in close collaboration with department chairs, program directors, Conference and Event

  • Services, and Marketing and Communication.

  • Develop relationships and communication approaches across the University and with off-campus constituents to cultivate attendance.

  • Initiate collaborative outreach with University Advancement, Enrollment

  • Management, Office of the Provost, etc. to ensure that planned programs align, where possible, with their missions and goals.

  • Support faculty and staff members on their organization of on-campus recruitment efforts for students who will pursue majors in the arts: audition & portfolio review days, prospective students' campus visits, etc.

  • Assist academic departments and programs in the arts to cross pollinate and develop a collective Arts presence at Arcadia.

  • Support work-study students contributing to running VPA events on developing relevant skills they can use when pursuing careers beyond graduation. This could include mentoring them in the use of productivity tools, business and marketing software, and/or guiding them in strategic thinking around marketing and events promotion and coordination in the Arts.

  • Support faculty and staff members as they carry out day-of event implementation.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in art-related disciplines or art event-related experiences

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suites

  • Experience supporting successful public events

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical, Computer, and Software Skills:

  • Ability to use Google Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Drive), Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Creative Cloud, and basic databases and software.

  • Analytical Thinking:

  • Ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.

  • Interprets and seeks information, uses independent reasoning to diagnose the root cause of solutions or issues, identifies and tests solutions, and thinks beyond what is typical or customary.

  • Ability to coordinate and support administration of programs/project activities and protocols.

  • Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality issues associated with the program/project.

  • Written and Oral Communications:

  • Ability to present information to individuals or groups; ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.

  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message.

  • Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others. Ability to impact and influence others to further the institution's strategic objectives.
