POSITION SUMMARY The Arts Administration Graduate Intern assists in planning and executing performing arts events (guests, ensembles, theatre, Performing Arts Series, etc.), as assigned by the Director of Production. This position supports the Performing Arts Production Staff, and over the course of the year will work with front of house, back of house, box office, and event planning.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Yearlong Duties
Maintain the instrument storage and locker database for the School of Music. Assist in checking out instruments and lockers.
Collaborate on large scale events (summer camps, workshops, institutes, etc.), as assigned, by preparing performance and rehearsal venues and overseeing set-up, tear-down, performer needs, and use of space. This may necessitate working weekday, evening, and weekend events.
Event Programs- collect requisite information, execute program layout, and arrange printing for Green Center performances.
Provide on-site support for guest artists, as assigned, in conjunction with the Event Production Manager.
Support the Director of Production in community engagement activities for the performing arts.
Oversee piano/harpsichord tuning and maintenance and maintaining piano/harpsichord inventory.
Oversee event tracking and student attendance in Campus Labs to support the School of Music recital attendance requirements.
Assist in marketing events in the Green Center for the Performing Arts and M2 as needed.
Oversee the Recital Hour schedule and prepare the weekly program slide decks for the School of Music.
Other duties as assigned.
Educational Opportunities and Assignments
Work with the Director of Production and the Event Production Manager in planning large scale events.
Train on front of house and back of house etiquette and planning with the Event Production Manager.
Train on technical theatre aspects such as lights, sound, and set design with the Design and Technical Director and on audio production with the Audio Technician.
Train on Box Office etiquette and systems with the Event Production Manager.
Learn about contract creation, contract execution, and technical riders.
Support these various areas, as assigned, throughout the year.
Other educational opportunities as assigned.
Develop a portfolio for graduate school and/or future job applications.
Other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree with experience in performing arts required. Experience working in an arts related field may be substituted for a degree.
Experience: Possess demonstrable experience in organizing events, working with the public.
Communication/Language: Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. (MS Office Applications and Google Applications expected; Big Tree or other web design application, if possible.)
