With little supervision is responsible for all aspects of artificial lift equipment and operations including optimization and maintenance that pertains to the down hole and surface equipment.

Identify ESP problems and optimize variable speed drive settings.

Attend ESP teardowns and identify root cause of failures.

Manage installation of pump off controllers and SCADA monitoring equipment.

Monitor rod pump wells for optimization opportunities and change Pump-Off-Controller set-points as needed.

Perform fluid levels Diagnose well problems with a focus on ensuring production optimization.

Maintains and updates well information in appropriate systems (WellView, XsPOC, POCs, etc.).

Educate Lease Operators in all aspects of well optimization as it pertains to artificial lift.

Must have ability to communicate with various vendors and must have an ability to quickly adjust to changing job assignments/requirements and have the flexibility to work overtime with little or no advance notice.

Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all persons associated with SM facilities Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of SCADA systems hardware and software (eLynx, XsPOC, Lowis, etc.).

Familiar with Lufkin POC setup and optimization.

Familiar with shooting fluid levels and running dynos.

Understanding of ESP, gas lift, and rod pumps.

Familiar with lease operator duties (gauging and data entry).

Must have valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to the company's automobile insurance carrier.

Is capable of handling the most complex duties without supervision Knowledge of downhole operations, failure analysis, best practices.

Understanding and awareness of cost metrics and analysis, with the ability to make strategic recommendations that have a positive financial impact.

Basic knowledge of facility construction practices and standards.

Proficient utilization of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel are required) applications to manipulate and interpret data and reports.

Demonstrated leadership in the area of Health, Environment Compliance and Safety with ability to identify issues and recommend and implement preventive measures.

Must have demonstrated leadership abilities.

Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

This is an active position, involving significant standing and walking, and driving.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required

Recent Petroleum Engineering Grads with minimal experience will be considered

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 to 3 years of related experience as an Artificial Lift Field Operator is preferred
3 to 5 years of related experience as a Lease Operator
2 to 3 years of related experience as an equipment repair technician preferred
