Artifact Coffee, the Sister restaurant to Spike Gjerde's James Beard Award winning Woodberry Kitchen, Baltimore's source for the finest in local and sustainably sourced fine dining, is searching for the best Baristas in town! Artifact Coffee offers food and drink to fuel body & soul. We serve food sourced exclusively from the Chesapeake watershed, and only direct trade coffee and teas. It is our firm commitment to source through the most responsible means possible and provide our guests with superior provisions to accentuate the quality ingredients we are using. It is important that our Baristas understand and respect this aspect of our service as it guides our program's mission.

A detailed list of responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• -Have a warm, outgoing persona with a strong interest in providing great service and maintaining great relationships with co-workers
• -Ensure that the coffee bar is well maintained, clean, organized and stocked
• -Be able to dial in espresso grinder adjustments, shot extraction parameters, and to calibrate by taste
• -Speak knowledgeably about each coffee we are serving, including an understanding of the regional variations
• -Execute high volume service by multi-tasking and consistently showing a sense of urgency
• -Adhere to company policies and protocols, both behind the bar and in the front of house
• -Demonstrate a passion for specialty coffee and local, organic, responsibly sourced food
• -Have a desire to continue learning more about coffee

To fulfill these requirements, we expect that the applicant will have at least a High School diploma, with at least 1-2 years working in a high level barista program.
