Administrative Analyst Specialist

Registrar's Office

Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,162/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Job Functions: Under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar for Advising and Articulation, the incumbent maintains transfer/test credit rules and Academic Advisement Report/Degree Planner requirements in the enterprise student information system (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions). These activities often require analysis of narrative descriptions of courses and academic requirements turning them into rules entered into the student information system.

The incumbent will analyze requirements, identify conflicts, and communicate them to the supervisor for resolution; be familiar with the various tools offered by the student information system and be able to suggest alternative solutions to complex problems; develop and execute test plans validating requirement and rule changes; and academic advising changes are made in coordination with the Assistant Registrar for Graduation, with whom the incumbent must develop a strong working relationship. The incumbent will assist with other activities in the Registrar's Office in order to accommodate seasonal variations in workload.

Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or equivalent training and two years of job-related experience.

The incumbent must have general knowledge and skill with higher education academic advising and/or transfer credit rules in an enterprise student information system. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.

Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position. As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to complete an analytical assessment.

Desired Qualifications:
Foundational knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and methods; general knowledge and skill with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions academic advising module and transfer credit rules, general knowledge and skill with Smart Planner or other degree planner system.

Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Associate Dean and the Dean of the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services, the incumbent contributes significantly to the day-to-day administration of the Associate Dean's Office and is responsible for the oversight, planning, vision, policy development, implementation and evaluation of all the college curriculum, program review, self-study, assessments, graduate programs and front office staff. Ensures compliance with specific accreditation and licensing requirements. Responsibilities include: planning; coordinating; collecting data; writing College/Division reports, marketing outreach/recruitment material, policy and data reports, and other communication-related projects; and participating with College and University committees. The incumbent: serves as the College Scheduling liaison, which includes developing detailed reports as needed and providing training to departments/schools on this task; oversees the planning of special events for the College; and is the primary point of contact for all faculty, staff and students for the Associate Dean's Office. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Two years of full-time administrative work experience involving study analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
