Marc Waring Ventures, the company behind the small business resource website FitSmallBusiness.com, is seeking a full-time Article Planner/SEO Keyword Researcher to join our content team.

Recently named to the Inc. 500 list of Americas fastest-growing private companies, FitSmallBusiness.com is read by over 1.5 Million small business owners and managers each month. We are a profitable, NYC-based startup with more than 50 full-time US-based staff, with headquarters across the street from Grand Central. This position is open to remote work.

The Position

The Article Planner/SEO Keyword Researcher will map out upcoming article assignment runways for our team of 25-plus writers (and growing). Our articles include buyers guides, reviews, how to guides and tip lists covering topics on a range of small business-related issues, including software and technology, eCommerce, retail, real estate, marketing, sales, and human resources.

Our assignment calendar is driven by a combination of editorial relevance, search engine optimization, and affiliate partner planning. The right candidate will have experience working with all three of those elements in a content operation, and a strong comfort using digital marketing and analytics tools.

This role, and our offer a unique opportunity for the right candidate looking to advance with a digital content operation thats expanding while others contract. Over the last four years, our business has grown from two partners working out of coffee shops to over 70 employees located across the globe.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building aggressive content plans- Work with our Chief Content Officer and editors to develop quarterly and annual content plans to that expand our coverage into new areas.

  • Finding and growing our audience- Working with our marketing/SEO team to identify the right audience for our content and make sure our team is writing articles that reach the audiences who are most impacted.

  • Generating revenue- Coordinate with our business development team to utilize the resources of our affiliate partner network to build great assignment slates.

Qualifications for success:

  • You have experience working with digital marketing and analytics tools including Google Analytics, AdWords, Ahrefs, and more, and you know how to apply that knowledge to content planning and business demands.
