ARTCO Lineboat Cook

  • St. Louis, MO

This is a full-time, non-exempt level position.

Position Summary:

  • ADM is seeking a skilled cook to prepare and serve daily meals under the direction of a Captain on a lineboat at American River Transportation Company (ARTCo).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide balanced and nutritional meals at scheduled meal times

  • Provide fresh baked goods & desserts on a regular basis

  • Maintain & order galley stores and supplies within the budget allowed

  • Maintain organized and clean galley and personal area

  • Observe & execute proper personal and food service hygiene

  • Perform duties safely, efficiently and professionally

  • Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely manner

  • Contribute to general welfare of the crew

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Job Requirements:

  • Promote the ADM Way and core Values

  • Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under the supervision of captain

  • Work well independently while contributing to the welfare of a team environment

  • Have a proven history of safe work behavior and a genuine desire for cooking

  • Ability to manage the daily schedule necessary to provide required meals (generally not exceeding 12 hours per workday, except for holiday meals, which may require extra time)

  • Operate and maintain various galley equipment

  • Follow crew change procedures and company policies

  • Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents

  • Must have reliable transportation and from your crew change location

  • Willingness to work a 28 days on and 28 days off schedule

  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. If you do not have a TWIC card upon hire, it is a requirement that you apply for one within 5 days

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for prolonged periods of time

  • Carrying weights in excess of 25 pounds

  • Extended times of kneeling, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping, reaching and sitting

  • Work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces

Daily job duties include: payroll, billing, crewing (setting up interviews, going through applications), and help keep HELM up to date. Other duties include, be up to date on Sub M policies, mediate labor problems, order supplies and write purchase requests. Fleet Supervisor will work with Fleet Manager on a day to day basis to help ensure boats and crews are up to date on compliance and maintain a safe work force. Responsibilities: * Month-end reports, including fuel, KPI reports, payroll accrual * Billing * Payroll * Enter Fuel and High Water Surcharges * Oversee fleet count. Load and empty counts. * Order fuel, lube and supplies for boat * Make sure tank barges are checked and fueled 60% * Crewing. Make sure boats are crewed, open job requisitions, interview, and hire as needed. * Mediate labor problems * Approve vacation requests * Order supplies, create PO's in Maximo, and process through invoices through AP. * Watch tank barges north or south and keep moving * Update Fleetcom * Assist Manager with projects or as needed * Watch over boat orders * Stay Current with HELM * Homeland Security AFSP & AVSP * Safety Action Plan * Barge Reports * VGP Compliance * Vessel Certificates of Documentation * Vessel Condition Inspection * Sub Chapter M/ RCP inspection * License Renewal and Steersman * SOP, JCC and VBS * AFE Writer * Permits * EMS * My ADM * Policy Training Summary * KPI * Safety Meetings (The following are ADM regulatory statements you can include or not…based on what Artco does) * All duties assigned by supervisor * Champion corporate-level initiatives designated for operations facilities (safety, environmental, quality, ethics, etc.) * Adhere to the directives and guidance prescribed by The ADM Way The employee will work in a plant environment and is expected to initiate work based on general instructions. The physical requirements of the job requires ability to climb stairs, lifting up to 55 lbs, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, meeting deadlines, providing calculated information, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, working adjusted hours, and working as instructed.
