MN Art License required. Experience with both two dimensional and three dimensional art preferred.

Description: ISD 191 is a suburban Minneapolis system of 8,500 students comprised of the communities of Burnsville, Eagan, and Savage. Burnsville Highschool is committed to providing Career Pathways for students that will help them follow their interests and prepare for further study, training or work opportunities within a Career Field. Currently the four Career Fields students can find Pathways include Arts, Global Communciations & Informations Systems; Health Sciences & Human Services; Design, Engineering, & Manufacturing Technologies; and Business, Management & Entrepreneurship. Job Responsibilities:
Guide in developing programs of study bridging secondary and postsecondary curriculum to support individual student plans of study within a complete range of career options. Assist students discover their interests and their passions, and empower them to choose the educational pathway that can lead to success in high school, college and career. Qualifications

The successful Art Teacher will be an individual who

  • in fostering a commitment among staff and parent communities to create the conditions for equity and excellence resulting in elimination of the achievement gap

has demonstrated:

  • successful experience in facilitating high-quality professional learning and remarkable outcomes through application
  • the ability to effectively manage and lead change, including changing practices and structures in our school system that may perpetuate inequities based on race and class
  • outstanding skills in written and oral communication, talent management, and school operations
  • effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication tool to improve student achievement and manage work
  • personal professional learning and development through a strong understanding of literature related to education, student learning, and leadership
  • the ability to manage dialog effectively, valuing alternative points of view in planning and decision-making
  • that he or she is a visible instructional leader
  • courage to do what is best for students
