OverviewAssists in providing creative direction to Creative teams and for the development, design and production of creative concepts. Understands briefs and works with the Account Services, Creative, and Production Departments to refine direction if required. Develop and execute concepts through rounds of internal and external revisions, build comps for client presentations and mechanicals to vendors.This position requires heavy direct mail and email marketing experience and an advertising or marketing agency background.What you'll do: * Responsible for the creation, conceptualization and design of campaigns and projects;* Ensure concepts developed by the agency are on strategy, practical and cost-effective to produce;* Assist in the development of creative work for new business pitches;* Present creative work to clients as needed;* Collaborate with Copywriters to develop concepts;* Ensure the creative work of the agency is produced to the highest standards of accuracy and quality control;* Art direct photo shoots as required;* Remain up-to-date on the latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production technology;* Recommend improvements and changes to the agency's processes and procedures and employ best;* Develop and grow the skills and experience of the creative team and seek and hire new talent as required.Who you are:*
  • High level of understanding in art direction, graphic design and interactive including page layout, typography and illustration;* Understanding of integrated direct marketing principles;* Proven staff management skills with experience in handling direct reports;* Highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects, and allocate work to the remainder of the team;* Strong understanding of strategic direction;* Excellent conceptual and design skills;* Very highly skilled and efficient in the use of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, including the ability to make changes quickly and accurately;* Very accurate with high attention to detail;* Excellent visual and verbal communication skills;* Highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude.Education/Experience: * Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent work experience;* Minimum of 7 years experience preferred;* Wide ranging portfolio focused on direct marketing campaigns with a strong direct mail/print emphasis including conceptual, design and production expertise.

Art Directors must have an impeccable sense of design: from typography, to UI; product to set, to installation art. They need to have extraordinary skills in graphic design and UX, preferably with an interdisciplinary background in those fields. Their ideas must be rooted in an keen understanding of what is technically possible for projects. Fake Love is known for their cutting edge and future forward design style, and someone in this position must be at the forefront. Creative Development At Fake Love, the Creative Development Team are ultimately responsible for bringing our worlds to life. The final creative decisions on all projects rests within this team. To be a part of it, you must have a firm understanding of Creative and Emerging Technologies -- as well as a passion for it. You have to be willing to take creative risks "to boldly go where no one has gone before". Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: Specifics * Develop the overall look or style of a concept visually; as well as create the visual assets. * Ability to interpret brief and creative solid, strategic visual assets based on brief and brand guidelines. * Contributions to experience / digital installation design including screen-based and immersive installations * Determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use on projects. * Supervise design staff- Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other staff members within Creative. * Understanding of motion graphics and technical applications. * Comfortable with fast turnarounds and tight timelines * Talk to clients to develop an artistic approach and style * Present designs to clients for approval * Ability to communicate and work with creative visualists in cross-department projects * Stay current with everything there is to know about the design of Experiential * Keep up to date with all the latest trends in Experiential Branding and Experiential Design * Learn and maintain a vocabulary for all technology used at Fake Love. * Accountable to Creative Managers General * Committed to innovation * Contributions to experience design across multi-context platforms including but not limited to: digital installation design, screen-based immersive installations, virtual reality platforms (360° and true VR), augmented reality platforms (creative execution in addition to UI and UX design), sculptural installations, set design for events of varying size, social platform integration * Understanding of consumer behavior and sociology * Create Mood Boards that adequately portray the story and art direction of creative concepts * Must be able to design and layout creative concepts in UX formats * Coordinate with other artistic or creative departments * Accountable to Creative Managers * Collaborate among creative management, account, tech, and production teams * Applied research and strategy informing creative work * You cannot have an aggressive or confrontational personality Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in design related field is preferred but not required * Show strong interest in the Arts.
