The Art Director will be responsible for leading the creative team in the design, development, and delivery of all visual elements of the Outdoor Voices brand. You will hold ownership of the visual identity from a graphic design standpoint and collaborate cross-functionally on the execution of all creative projects, for both online and physical touchpoints.


  • Take ownership of all online and offline design initiatives

  • Oversee, lead and mentor a team of talented graphic designers, photographers and copywriters

  • Ensure that OV's established look-and-feel and voice is successfully implemented across projects, helping to maintain consistency across all channels

  • Develop and maintain a strong, innovative and well defined graphic design language for the brand

  • Establish guidelines for all applications of the graphic identity of the brand including page layouts, typography and interaction design

  • Maintain packaging standards and help evolve visual systems as we continue to grow into new markets, partnerships, legal requirements, etc.

  • Develop innovative concepts and specifications for graphic design related projects that achieve brand objectives and project timelines

  • Work closely with Marketing from concept through delivery of campaigns

  • Collaborate with the Experience Design team to maintain a consistent design language across the web experience

  • Monitor and ensure overall quality of all graphic design output

  • Ensure consistency of graphic design guidelines across all channels and brand touchpoints


  • Minimum 7 years progressive experience in graphic design

  • Experience in physical design including packaging, offset printing, and publishing

  • Depth of experience in design integration, typography, and interactive interface design

  • Comprehensive understanding of internet standards and interactivity

  • Mature appreciation of the balance between creativity and commerce

  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to articulate creative vision and concepts to cross functional groups

  • Strong personal interest in fashion

  • A nuanced understanding of the Outdoor Voices product, brand, voice, and mission

About You The Art Director will be responsible for translating the client's strategy, goals, and vision into online marketing assets. You will assist the Creative Director in overseeing creative projects, including execution and planning, guiding the supporting teams. You are an ace at managing multiple projects and competing initiatives without letting anything slip. You are passionate about design and performance marketing and your work is always top-notch! You have great communication skills and love to evangelize your designs both internally and to the client. You'll be responsible for: * Creating original concepts informed by research and data with clear, concise design that is both visually interesting, on brand, and focused on performance marketing * Integrating designs in a range of visual styles with brand and aesthetic cues while pushing the creativity of the work and evolving style standards * Applying new user experience and design fundamentals into brand development * Following best practices for quality user experience design from ideation, user flow and wireframes to final visual design and implementation * Leading brainstorming sessions both internally and with client * Giving art direction, helping train, mentor and inspire junior creative team members * Incorporating ideas and making revisions in response to the feedback and criticisms of clients and team members in a business-like, open-minded and collaborative manner * Maintaining ownership for project through final execution, including QA and reviewing and signing off on all revisions and production phases to ensure that selling message is clear You'll need to have: * Design or Interactive Media related degree or equivalent experience * 5-7 years' experience as a visual designer producing for advertising and digital marketing * Amazing portfolio showcasing branding, storytelling, video, web, banners, email, social, etc. * Understanding of HTML development and testing, CSS * Ability to co-manage multiple clients, account teams, and varied projects, tight deadlines and high volume of work * Proven ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail * Deep understanding and enthusiasm for advertising, web technologies, emerging design trends and innovations * Strong verbal communication skills as a presenter and meeting facilitator in both individual and group settings, internally and with the client * Strong written communication skills developing decks and various communication vehicles with other stakeholders that address client's strategy and tactical concerns * A fundamental understanding of market research and marketing to develop marketing-driven solutions for our clients * Willingness to to adapt to 3Q creative team's communication and project management tools Additional things that will impress us: * Experience in a performance marketing agency a plus (not required) * Experience in mentoring junior team members, and providing art direction to production artists, vendors and freelancers * Proficiency in the following programs: * Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects) * Sketch and Invision * Google Suite (Slides, Sheets, Docs) * Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) About Us Best in-class digital marketing results require the best-in-class workforce and our best-in-class workforce ultimately drives the culture at 3Q Digital.
