The Art Director role will play an integral role on a team of creative professionals including copywriters, designers, and producers. The position reports to the Creative Director. We are seeking someone with strong creative talent, exceptional grasp of writing style and mechanics, and the desire to be part of a highly skilled in-house creative team.


  • Develop detailed photography plans and work with producers to deliver high quality photo assets

  • Thoroughly understand and clearly convey the brand voice throughout all marketing materials with on time delivery to the brief specifications.

  • Create storyboards, design layouts with an omni-channel focus and coordinate the work of design staff

  • Understand the design elements of projects, inspire other creative workers, and keep projects on time

  • Collaborate with copy partners, developers, marketing team, and others to obtain outstanding information and ensure all changes provided have been implemented.

  • Incorporate feedback, comments, and changes from stakeholders swiftly with a positive, solution-driven attitude.

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, practicing effective communication with team members and managers at all times


  • 7+ years of experience with concept, photo, and omni-channel (retail, print, digital, social)

  • Portfolio required

  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Strong leadership, communication, and design skills with premium brand sensibility

  • Creativity with the ability to follow brand guidelines

  • Ability to integrate feedback in order to meet internal client objectives

  • Strong attention to detail, ability and willingness to review yours and others work thoroughly and effectively

  • Preferred experience: retail industry, home design, decorating, creative agency and/or a start up environment

  • Preferred skills: Workfront, Sketch

Reporting to the VP of Brand &amp; Creative, the Art Director will work closely with graphic designers and the Creative team to art direct and design for the website, emails, ads, print collateral, packaging, and other brand assets from concept to execution. M.M. is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone with the capacity to simultaneously manage and execute, coming up with new ideas while juggling multiple projects.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Manage and art direct team of graphic designers, providing frequent actionable feedback and approving daily assets, including:</p></li><li><p>Recurring digital design assets (weekly marketing emails, digital ads, social posts, and web experiences)</p></li><li><p>Print materials (direct mail, packaging, and collateral)</p></li><li><p>Environmental graphics (store signage, displays)</p></li><li><p>Out of Home and experiential visuals</p></li><li><p>Evolve and develop our visual identity</p></li><li><p>Oversee application of brand standards throughout the company's visual output</p></li><li><p>Ensure all creative work is strategically sound, conceptually inspiring, and visually cohesive</p></li><li><p>Review all creative work through a &quot;brand-right&quot; lens, providing feedback on how to improve when it is not</p></li><li><p>Oversee large-scale, 360° seasonal campaigns, creating a unique look and feel for each one that ladders back to our overall visual language</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Senior Brand Manager to plan, manage, and art direct social media content</p></li><li><p>Contribute design work and execute visuals when necessary</p></li><li><p>Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure brand creative needs are met</p></li></ul><p>As a member of the Brand &amp; Creative Team, this role works cross-functionally to create cohesive visuals across all brand assets.
