We are seeking an Art Director who will create digital and printed communications, conveying the American Century Investments brand and adhering to brand guidelines. You will guide, mentor and encourage other designers on the team. In this role, you will ensure the adequacy of resources and materials, meeting timelines and budget, as well as high-quality outputs based on clients' specifications and business requirements.

Responsibilities:

Communicates and collaborates with Creative Director, business partners, project team members, web team and others to provide both direction and hands-on leadership to ensure work achieves project goals
Develop advanced work using sophisticated conceptual, art direction and design abilities
Crafts roughs, mockups and prototypes using suitable designs, colors, fonts and graphics; prepares files for printing; optimizes assets for the web
Maintains and shares up-to-date knowledge on industry technology and trends
Collaborates with copywriters and designers to develop comprehensive creative solutions
Assists cross-functional teams from conceptualization to implementation

Requirements:

Proactive, self-starter able to thrive in a team environment as well as function independently
Excellent communications skills and able to interact with all levels of business partners
Outstanding time manager with strict adherence to established project deadlines
Ability to simultaneously balance multiple projects
A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, advanced art direction and design abilities
6+ years of demonstrated experience in Art Director roles in a marketing or agency environment
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Experience working with cross-functional marketing, creative and production teams and partners
Experience with Adobe After Premiere or After Effects desired
Experience with HTML5 desired
Financial services experience a plus
Corporate identity and branding experience a plus
