Job Description

  • Security Armed Officer for Wells Fargo Bank site in Landover, MD

Allied Universal is seeking a Professional Armed Security Officer. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to contribute to our company's core purpose of providing unparalleled service, systems and solutions to serve, secure and care for the people and businesses of our communities.

The armed security officer is a deterrent to criminal activity by remaining visible and presenting a neat and professional appearance in properly worn uniform and associated equipment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent

  • Comfortable using a tablet or computer

  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)

  • Able to:

  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds

  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property

  • Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons

  • Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises

  • Participates in industry specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best trained officers at their sites

  • Works in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others

  • Maintains awareness and familiarity with the site-specific operations performance manual and post orders

Do you have the experience and skill set to recognize, negotiate, and recommend trade agreements, licenses, and exemptions for a variety of international defense and dual use related programs? If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL. We are seeking an experienced trade licensing and compliance professional to help lead and manage a highly diversified import/export program in support of our military and associated national defense, space and commercial programs. This trade professional extracts critical information from program Statements of Work (SOW), Tasking Assignments (TA), and technical description documents and incorporates necessary information into licenses, agreements, and Letters of transmittal for submission primarily to the Departments of State and Commerce to meet legal requirements specified under the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), the Export Administration Act (EAA) and their implementing regulations (ITAR and EAR). Import/export licenses, agreements, and permits are occasionally obtained from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and other Government agencies as needed. Knowledge and experience utilizing Government license databases including DTRADE and SNAP-R combined with OCR EASE. Position reports to the Office of Counsel's International Trade Compliance Office Section Supervisor and assists APL trade professionals with both enterprise wide and program/project specific trade licensing and compliance applications. The trade professional must stay current relative to trade events and federal rule changes that impact the ITAR, EAR, Customs, ATF, and NRC regulations. The trade professional must have intimate familiarity and experience conducting jurisdictional determinations and classification management of both defense and commercial dual use goods and services. The trade professional liaises with licensing and management officials at the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), Secretary of the Air Force International Affairs (SAFIA), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Navy International Programs Office (NIPO), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Intelligence Community as directed and necessary relative to license processing and international program compliance. As a Deputy Technology Control Officer... * Your primary responsibility will be to assist a large variety of defense-related programs in obtaining import and export licenses that are crucial in delivering defense and dual use product and services to many countries. * You will help grow, strengthen and build upon a Trade Licensing and Compliance Program aligned to serve and support virtually every APL Department, Mission Area, and Sector's visions/goals. * You will advise, recommend, negotiate, and write Technical Assistance Agreements, Special Comprehensive Export Authorizations, Technical Data Licenses, Classified Licenses, Validated Commerce Licenses, Carnets, Import Certificates, and other import/export licenses and agreements as needed by projects and programs. * You will assist programs and projects to identify and recognize how and when to use ITAR and EAR exemptions and exceptions under a large variety of export and import circumstances. * You will conduct periodic self-assessments of both enterprise and program/project specific programs to ensure ITAR/EAR-wide regulations are being implemented as required. * You will conduct administrative inquiries as necessary and directed, and coordinate all findings and recommended action to management. * You will provide focused training to both enterprise and programs/projects relative to license application, submission, and implementation. * You will assist with the oversight and implementation of the Technology Control Plan. * You will approve foreign shipments and technical data exports via a variety of methods e.g., electronic, telephone, face-to-face briefings. You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... * Have a Juris Doctorate (JD) and/or Master's Degree in a field relevant to international trade licensing and compliance. * Have 8 years prior experience serving as an ITAR Empowered Official. * Have 8 years prior experience writing Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), Classified Export Licenses (DSP-85), Technical Date Licenses (DSP-5), Temporary and permanent import/export licenses (DSP 61 and 73), Validated Commerce Export Licenses, Import Licenses and Certificates, and the ability to recognize and use ITAR and EAR exemptions and exceptions under a large variety of export and import circumstances. * Are willing and able to travel 5% of the time. * Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain TS/SCI clearance.
