The Role:
Your Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the US Chief Commercial Officer, the Area Vice President (AVP) is responsible for establishing, developing and implementing key growth strategies and tactics to drive expansion of Moon Surgical's business and the adoption of Maestro technology into the broader laparoscopy market. Area Vice President duties will include achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual customer program, utilization and revenue targets through direct customer partnership efforts and building and leading capital and clinical teams.
The AVP role will require execution of both short- and long-term strategies to achieve Maestro launch and commercialization goals. The position requires hiring and developing Moon Surgical team members and implementing the appropriate business capabilities including expert-level knowledge of disruptive sales processes, use of the Maestro system and the ability to establish mutually beneficial customer partnerships. The AVP is expected to provide an extraordinary degree of vision, communication, collaboration, and information throughout the organization to ensure we are achieving our growth and commercialization goals.
Your Day-to-day Activities
Be adaptable in the role - have the ability to do any job in the commercial organization, such as direct selling, product demonstrations, surgeon/staff training and case coverage as needed
Execute the US commercial plan derived from Moon Surgical's yearly corporate goals in your geography
Share feedback and lessons learned from the field in a diligent and structured way to ensure course correction and business model stabilization
Prioritize and engage key laparoscopic surgeons and hospital, health system, and ASC administrators to implement robust Maestro programs from limited market release through full commercialization phases
Hire, onboard, develop and manage a team of clinical account managers, capital/program sellers, and other roles as needed in line with the commercial business plan
Manage pipeline, product utilization, and revenue forecasts (incl. CRM)
Drive program installations, utilization and revenue growth
Supervise and ensure the success of key accounts
Develop and cultivate centers of excellence and key opinion leaders
Monitor and deliver customer success
Liaise with marketing, product, and service teams to ensure maximum value created with customers
Build and maintain a culture of commitment, courage, curiosity and collaboration as we scale the organization
How You'll Fit In
As part of the Commercial Leadership Team, you will work in close coordination with the US CCO and in tight collaboration with Marketing and Operations teams.
This is a remote position based in any major city or near a major airport in the Eastern US, with up to 75% travel.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Exceptional leadership skills with deep business acumen in surgical technology markets

  • Proven capital and subscription sales and sales leadership experience, meeting or exceeding targets

  • 5+ years experience as a sales vice president or director in both capital and clinical segments

  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the health system, from surgeons to management to executive and C-suite leaders

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to implementation

  • Proven ability to articulate the clinical, economic and strategic value of disruptive medical device technologies

  • Out of the box thinker and passionate about driving "surgery as a service" business

  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Ability to excel in a high-energy, fast-paced startup environment
