The purpose of the Area Social Media Manager position for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to utilize social media platforms to broaden the reach of the Church's teachings and activities across the globe. This position advocates and evangelizes the global social media strategy with areas and departments-encouraging alignment with strategy and social media best practices to achieve objectives and reach desired outcomes. This position helps keep track of social media trends and user engagement to continuously refine and improve the Church's mission to invite souls to come to Christ across the globe

  • Required: A bachelor's degree in business, communication, marketing, or related disciplines.

  • Candidates should have substantial experience, with at least 7 years in a relevant field, such as social media management, digital marketing, or communications.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools, and analytics software is essential.

  • The ability to lead projects, guide teams, and manage multiple initiatives is crucial.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for engaging with staff and other stakeholders.

  • A deep understanding of the Church's teachings and values to ensure alignment with its mission is important.

  • Candidates should have the ability to adapt to new technologies and trends in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

  • Ability to speak more than one language-particularly Spanish-can be especially beneficial.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.

  • 7 years Program and/or Project Management experience.

  • Ability to make informed, complex decisions using data.

  • Ability to understand and manage medium to large business operations.

  • Ability to lead medium to large teams and projects using influence.

  • Ability to champion process and policy.

  • Ability to get results in a matrix organization.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to senior level leaders.

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree with 5 years Program.

  • Project Management experience.

  • PMP certification.
