Plans, develops, and implements long and short-term strategies and marketing programs for a sales force covering a large territory, district, or region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of sales representatives; defines expectations, monitors progress, and counsels if expectations are not met

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and initiatives

  • Direct sales development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals

  • Conduct sales meetings, product presentations, train, develop, and motivate team to foster the success of overall sales team

  • Call on key accounts in designated territory/region and work with sales management to develop overall sales strategies

  • Collaborate with key accounts in geographic region to improve distribution of product within set accounts

  • Align with supplier representatives to understand their brands, sales goals/projections, and support in securing additional market share through team's effective selling approach

  • Meet with key clients, assisting sale consultants with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals

  • Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements

  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree plus 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of wine and spirits to include regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production, and service

  • Knowledge of products and their key features and attributes; ability to execute product line strategies

  • Knowledge of various types of customers and ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and information

  • Advanced knowledge in Word and Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and V Lookup

  • Experience using project management skills to plan, organize, manage, and accomplish goals

  • Excellent organization and time management skills to meet goals/objectives

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality output

  • Ability to understand and manage budgets, profitability, and expenses

  • Ability to communicate enthusiasm for the product and category

  • Ability to work with all levels of employees throughout the division

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs

This position is responsible for executing the Jägermeister on and off premise sales strategy and driving volume in the assigned territory. The AM is responsible for proactive distributor management including: briefing distributor management on plans/initiatives, delivering brand education, planning, and performance results at General Sales and Quarterly/Annual Business Review meetings, and driving accountability for performance, programming, and resolution of any potential challenges associated with the Jägermeister brand. This role requires strong communication and influencing skills.</p><p><strong>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong>:</strong></p><p>Distributor Management</p><ul> <li>Partner with District/Field Managers and Sales Representatives to develop and grow the Jägermeister brand.</li> <li>Responsible for managing the partnership and all brand-related initiatives with the distributor portfolio manager.</li> <li>Conduct General Sales Meeting on a regular basis.</li> <li>Conduct and participate in Business Reviews covering assigned geography.</li> <li>Manage quarterly projects assigned by Regional Manager or Regional Director.</li> <li>Meet monthly with District/Field manager to review KPI’s and sales execution.</li> <li>Analyze distributor business in order to develop the right plans by collaborating with Regional Manager.</li> <li>Creates and delivers presentations to effectively educate groups of consumers, sales people, distributors, and others on the history, properties, and production of Jägermeister.</li> </ul><p>Sales and Commercial Execution</p><ul> <li>Contributes to new ideas and solutions for distributors and retailers in the territory.</li> <li>Executes local program development/commercial solutions to improve brand execution and image in market – includes: proper distribution of Jägermeister by type and size, merchandising programs, shelf management positions, drink features and promotions.</li> <li>Understands local market and competitors within territory.</li> <li>Maintains visible, on-going relationships with accounts.</li> <li>Represents Jägermeister at all relevant events within territory.</li> <li>Conducts staff training and tastings in accounts.</li> <li>Understands pricing, profit and brand economics.</li> <li>Partners with MJUS Field Marketing team to develop local programs designed to engage the consumer.</li> <li>Partners with Trend &amp; Scene (T&amp;S) Regional &amp; T&amp;S Managers on a regular basis to align on key events, education/trainings opportunities, and KPI achievement</li> </ul><p>Talent Selection &amp; Development</p><ul> <li>Area Managers in key markets will be responsible for leading, developing, and training an On Premise Manager (OPM)</li> <li>Establishes individual accountability through communication of expectations, goals, and KPIs for OPM.
