The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has an Area Manager position available in Starke, FL. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the operations function. This position will report to the Plant Manager II.

A high level overview of the role is as follows:

  • Leads improvement programs and initiatives for production and/or other manufacturing service area.

  • Provides leadership and direction for the area with 24/7 operation

  • Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and/or effectively manages daily work and shutdowns.

  • Accountable for establishing and meeting fixed and variable cost objectives.

  • Sets expectations for adherence to policies and procedures and safety standards.

  • Manages production and/or manufacturing services/functions.

  • Responsible for the operation of low hazard processes and/or multiple unit operations

  • Manages safety, yield, and cost, resources and schedules

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the safe operation of the FL Plant's dredge and wet mill area, which includes responsibility for a 35-employee operations team with a fixed cost budget of $2 M.

  • Responsible for all Environmental, Health and Safety aspects of the operation

  • Responsible for compliance with policies, procedures and safety standards related to process Safety management (PSM).

  • Create a safe and respectful work environment

  • Lead the organization by setting high standards and operational discipline.

  • Lead the area to set and meet cost, quality, reliability and productivity objectives.

  • Provide input for the dredge and wet mill area to the 3 year site strategic plan, which supports the business and corporate strategy.

  • Develop short to mid-term area plans, including improvement activities, and organize team members to execute the plans; ensuring availability of resources.

  • Communication and execution of business objectives, priorities and progress across the Area.

  • Responsible for the managing processes and implementing best practices to achieve excellence in yield, uptime, and other operating COTs within the Area.

  • Leads/Supports investigation of yield and uptime detractors for the Area and determines appropriate corrective action.

  • Develop individuals for future assignments

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • BS degree in Engineering

  • 5 years of industrial experience

  • Supervisory experience

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong understanding of process operations

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work with a diverse population of employees and contractors

  • Process Safety management in HHP and/or LHO operations

  • Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and corporate safety philosophy

  • Demonstrated capability to drive results and meet tight timelines

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • Six Sigma certification

  • PSM training or leadership

  • Previous line supervision experience in Operations

  • Familiarity with finance/cost management

  • Familiarity with the Work management process (WMP)

  • Proficiency in leadership of root cause & failure analysis investigations

The Security Site Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services to an assigned customer. Act as a liaison between customer, Operation Manager and security officers. Supervise site staff, providing coaching, recognition and discipline within approved empowerment range.
