What you will do

Executes operational and inventory excellence in a field-based organization with a focus on financial optimization by directly aligning with the Divisional goals and initiatives. Supports and influences branches and agencies by providing value-added expertise, technical products, analysis, and on-site mentorship as necessary.

  • Analyze, identify, and optimize under-utilized inventory assets within area.

  • Execute operational strategies on product launches and product phase outs across the area.

  • Propose and implement new tools and systems aimed at improving operational efficiencies while constantly integrating cost reduction strategies related to inventory.

  • Promote operational "best practices" and operational uniformity across area.

  • Create and/or track field organization key performance indicators (KPI) metrics

  • Regular interaction, in person or by phone, with Area Leaders to drive inventory optimization and operational excellence at the area level

  • Provide pre- and post-communication to ensure key action items are captured and people responsible are identified (used for Area and branch reviews).

  • Conduct regular area meetings, conference calls and web meetings to drive operational consistency across area.

  • Analyze and drive improvement across operations and supply chain within region.

  • Identify and implement IT solutions to improve productivity; act as field subject matter expert for new tools (e.g. ERP) and spreading knowledge throughout the field.

  • Educate and train appropriate branch personnel to ensure implementation of corporate policies and procedures.

What you need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management/Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain required or 10 years equivalent work experience

  • 6+ years in supply chain, logistics, distribution, customer service, inventory management, etc.

  • Extensive familiarity of both Reconstructive and Trauma orthopaedic implant systems and sales models.

  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working proficiency in Microsoft Access and Word

  • ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, etc).

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate, and interact effectively with all levels of the organization to impact operational results with no direct reporting structure.

  • Extensive project management experience.

  • Ability to apply technical applications to business processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate issues identified and make corrective actions independently or raise awareness to supervisor with proposal of corrective actions to be taken

  • Self-starting, self-motivating mindset with the ability to work remotely.

This is a field based position covering Indiana and eastern OH. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all sales efforts at assigned distributor locations to achieve maximum Power Motion and Controls & Fluid Conveyance product sales penetration, while maintaining a professional relationship with each distributor and customer. In this role, you will propose solutions to these customer needs, coordinate division resources and customer decision centers to achieve customer and division goals and objectives. It's where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours. * You will communicate effectively with distributors and customers on new or revised Power Motion Controls (PMC) and Fluid Conveyer (FC) division marketing policies and procedures as well as periodic review of open orders, forecasts, inventory levels and other goals and performance metrics. * You will coordinate and implement, on a shared responsibility basis with Customer Service departments, special warranty agreements/procedures at assigned customers. * You will recommend (to PMC and FC division marketing and pricing department) price proposals/changes, product changes, delivery changes and other miscellaneous programs as needed to meet market/customer needs * You will plan, conduct, and/or coordinate technical sales training sessions on standard and new PMC and FC products and their applications for distributors and customers. * You will accumulate and evaluate data on competitor's products, market penetration, and channel coverage and prepares reports for sales and marketing review. * You will prepare and submit routine call reports, monthly reports, action plan updates, operating plan updates, GAP Analysis, TOP, and other sales oriented documents to the Regional Sales Manager upon request. * You will maintain and update product forecast utilizing distributor and customer input and personal judgment.
