Summary:
The AreaFacility Operations Specialist shall assist the 99th Readiness Division(DIV(R)) with the execution and implementation of a multi-faceted,comprehensive engineering base operations and sustainment program to ensure thebuildings and grounds are properly monitored and maintained to meet thefunctional, appearance, safety, security and environmental standards.

Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:

  • Facilityinspections and checklists

  • Monitorphysical and functional condition of building systems

  • Identifyand report deficiencies

  • Planning,coordination and quality assurance requirements and specifications for servicecontract support of facility repairs

  • Coordinateand participate in occupational health and safety inspections

  • Prepare,review and submit energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations

  • Promoteenergy conservation and awareness

  • Developquality assurance program and implement

  • Providequality assurance inspection and oversight for maintenance and repair anddocument as required

  • Monitorfacility systems

  • Assist99th DIV(R) DPW implement corrective actions, repair, and maintenance

  • Developtasks and requirements list and order of cost magnitude for Sustainment,Revitalization, and Maintenance (SRM) projects

  • Ensureproper storage, usage, and disposal and associate documentation of hazardousmaterials and hazardous waste

  • Monitoringand inspect life safety, physical security and fire preventionrequirements. Address deficiencies ifrequired.

  • Respondto all information requests

  • AttendProject Review Boards as requested

  • Documentation,Checklists, and Reports.

MinimumQualifications:

  • Bachelor'sdegree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three plus years'experience;

or

  • Aminimum of Five (5) years related experience and/or training or equivalentcombination of education and experience.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiaritywith the Microsoft Suite.

  • Currentfavorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR380-67;

  • ValidDriver's License

You will provide overall network infrastructure support to routing and switching equipment, firewalls and IDS/IPS, and associated cabling. The Network Specialist ensures that the LAN/WAN is capable of providing required services by supporting the network infrastructure through the use of troubleshooting and problem resolution in a production environment. Provides daily operational support for LAN/WAN networks, including firewalls. Plans, installs and supports hardware and software upgrades; resolves technical issues associated with network and routing protocols at all levels of the OSI model through the use of diagnostics and network administration tools such as Hewlett Packard (HP) OpenView, Cisco Works and Tivoli. An understanding of Management Information Blocks (MIB) and MRTG to measure, plan and execute methodologies to ensure high performance levels and minimum downtime. Responsible for maintaining LAN – WAN barrier systems to prevent unauthorized access to MTF systems. In order to meet these requirements, the Network Specialist must be familiar with Cisco firewalls, Cisco, Alcatel, Hewlett-Packard, Nortel and NetScreen VPN devices and IDSs. Uses diagnostic utilities to identify and isolate problems encountered on different mediums and network protocols, gather latency statistics and find specific network bottlenecks, evaluate problems and implement fix actions through device reconfiguration or replacement depending on the circumstances. Minimum Requirements * 3-4 years minimum of recent experience maintaining LAN switches and routers (Cisco, Ruckus/Brocade, Juniper), and trouble-shooting general LAN/WAN problems. * Prior to starting, must have one of the following IA certifications: * Approved Baseline Certifications IAT Level II: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSP * Within 3 months of starting, must obtain one of the following network vendor certifications: * CCNA or equivalent Brocade/Ruckus or Juniper certification * Requires a self-motivated individual possessing excellent people, verbal and written communication skills. * Must have good knowledge on general security methodologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and access control lists. * Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a National Agency Check for Position of Trust (ADPII). Preferred Qualifications * Previous or current Position of Trust (ADPII) * 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field; or 8 years of experience with vocational schooling is desired. * DOD or medical network experience strongly preferred.
