We are seeking an Area Director of Finance for a cluster of properties in Orlando, FL.


The Area Director of Finance Duties and

Responsibilities:
The Area Director of Finance leads and facilitate the achievement of property annual goals and targets to ensure profitability and revenue growth. Actively participate in cross-functional teams to drive overall business performance, e.G. Revenue management and sales and marketing tools
Manage working capital, cash flow, capital and overall expenses to obtain the highest value. Identify risk exposure and effectively manage financial risk to create and preserve value, ensuring effective systems of controls are in place.
Function as a strategic business partner to the GM and the Executive Committee. Leverage strong financial expertise and business acumen to influence the strategic direction of the operation, identify opportunities for growth, optimize the allocation of financial resources, and drive business results.
The Area Director of Finance effectively leads the execution of finance and accounting responsibilities for the properties including the preparation of the annual business plan and operating budget, forecasting, internal controls, financial analysis, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting, P&L accuracy, capital expenditure budget, etc.
Help enhance the team s business skills. Educate department heads on sales and profit maximization and cost control; provide ongoing analytical decision support & tools to ensure revenue goals are met and opportunities are identified and addressed.
The Area Director of Finance puts in place appropriate controls to manage the business and financial risks. Ensure a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability. Ensure compliance with the standard and local operating procedures and local regulations.
The Area Director of Finance oversees internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs; make sure appropriate corrections are made
Reconcile balance sheet and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate supporting documentation in accordance with SOPs.
Ensure all issues on the balance sheet are disclosed and compliance with certification is timely.
The Area Director of Finance ensures that the P&L is accurate and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
Effectively manage property working capital and cash flow; identify key projects and manage associated capital expenditure funds for product improvement and increased revenue potential
The Area Director of Finance analyzes financial data and market trends and produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business; facilitate critique meetings to review information with the management team. Provide regional and corporate recipients with forecast information in a timely manner
The Area Director of Finance ensures tax rates used for sales/use tax are current and proper amounts are collected and/or accrued. Oversee the payment of real estate/ property taxes, payroll, and other applicable local taxes, and if applicable hold in funded escrow accounts. Ensure tax-exempt transactions are appropriate and properly documented
Serve as a liaison between home office, property, and insurance carrier when claims are filed

The Area Director of Finance Education or Certification:
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required
CPA

Requirements:
Required Experience:
The Area Director of Finance must have at least 4-5 years of related Director of Finance experience
In-depth lodging/hospitality industry knowledge
The Area Director of Finance must have strong F&B knowledge
Excellent finance, accounting, and analytical skills, including experience with cash management, forecasting, revenue management strategies, budgeting, and project management
The Area Director of Finance must have experience evaluating business trends and develop and successfully implementing new business programs and strategies that enhance financial performance
Experience in owner relations
The Area Director of Finance must have experience with complex operating and financial agreements; demonstrated success in evaluating risks and developing proactive strategies and plans to mitigate business issues
Experience managing people
CPA is a must

Provides leadership and direction in the business planning, forecasting, accounting, budgeting and financial reporting of the agency. The Director of Finance will oversee all accounting activities related to auditing, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection, tax compliance and payroll, and is also responsible for human resources, benefits administration and risk management. The Director of Finance directly supervises the Human Resource Manager, and has secondary supervisory responsibilities for the Welcome Center Manager, ECLC Office Manager, Membership & Development Coordinator, and Welcome Center Associate/AP Specialist, and it relates to their accounting functions. This position is supervised by the Chief Executive Officer. Responsibilities: * Oversee financial operations of the agency.Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the agency to include financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, budgeting, audit preparation, and safeguarding of assets. * Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls and proper segregation of duties. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, auditing, HR and payroll procedures as needed.Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, department budgets, salary updates, etc. * Prepare weekly and monthly financial assessments, financial statements, special analyses, and financial information reports to Senior management team, Finance committee and Board of Directors. Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide staff and lay leaders. * Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. * Complete annual financial audit.Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and prepare requested PBC's for external auditors, as required. * Ensure compliance with any local (orange county property tax return), state (sales tax), and federal reporting (990, 5500, 1096) requirements. * Obtain the necessary licenses and insurance required. * Manages all aspects of Human Resources: creates and implements employee relations policies, oversees all hiring and compliance with HR regulations, communicates with employees about compensation, benefits, health insurance, PTO, etc. * Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems (Daxko) for the agency. * Collaborate with CEO to establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA, master's degree preferred) * 7+ years of experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and cost control principles. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. * Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. (Experience with the Daxko CRM and accounting system is a plus.) Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. * Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
