Everett/Mill Creek Young Life is looking for an Area Administrator. This position is approximately 20 hours per week with some variation (work will increase during special events, decrease during calmer seasons). If a candidate is looking for more hours, there is potential for this position to serve multiple nearby Young Life areas, moving to 30-40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a heart for service who can run a variety of projects and takes pride in high quality work. This person must also feel comfortable interacting/speaking with adults and students in a variety of situations such as contacting donors or seeing a group of students off to camp.

In addition to Young Life (high school) and WyldLife (middle school) ministries, Everett/Mill Creek has a thriving YoungLives ministry to teen parents and a Capernaum ministry to our friends with disabilities.

Our area has a long history of Young Life. Our school district is a mix of suburban and urban and has considerable socio-economic and ethnic diversity. Currently the area has an Area Director, a Staff Associate III (focused on YoungLives), a part-time Staff Associate II, and one NextGen Leader staff (focused on YoungLives).

We currently have ministry at one of our three high schools and we have two WyldLife Clubs covering five middle schools. Our vision is for every kid that lives in the Everett School District to have the opportunity to meet Jesus and to do that we are working to grow into 3+ high school clubs and increase our presence at 3 of our 5 middle schools.

Responsibilities:

Written and Verbal Communication

  • Answer correspondence, organize and maintain important documents and prepare mailings.

  • Respond to voicemails, emails, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain the area website with accurate information and images.

  • Support area staff in procuring/creating content for the area newsletter.

  • Send thank you letters to donors in coordination with area staff

Financial Administration

  • Process donations including checks received via mail and cash payments and donations.

  • Maintain the committee and leader databases, ensuring that leader forms, driver questionnaires, and criminal background checks are up to date.

  • Coordinate with the area director to keep the area calendar accurate.

  • Maintain contact databases using YL Connect

Event Administration

  • Coordinate area event locations, logistics to include food, and any necessary paperwork or awards.

  • Assist in camp registrations/ tracking of payments and health forms/ send communication to parents about camp trips/ etc

  • Assist with banquet/golf marathon/auction and other large area fundraising events

Training

  • Provide training to the area office assistant, area directors, area committee, volunteer team leaders and leaders on various items, processes and applications related to field administration.

  • Training will be provided to you by the area director and regional administrator, as well as national online support.

  • Complete the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Onboarding and attend (if able) regional training and gatherings

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to team success.

  • Self-initiative approach to duties.

  • A strong drive for racial equity and growing in cultural intelligence.

  • Adaptable at learning new systems for Young Life Webconnex/Salesforce/Camp, etc.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and processes with the capability of handling concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

  • Good grammar skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.

  • Potential for remote and in-person work

  • Occasional off-site experiences (golf tournament, camp send offs/reception).
