Position Summary

The University of Georgia is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a community-engagement facilitator, known as an Archway Professional. This position is a Public Service & Outreach Faculty member that will serve a new rural internship program.

The Archway Partnership is a Public Service and Outreach Unit under the leadership of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach. Archway is a nationally recognized leader in community engagement and stakeholder facilitation.

The Rural Internship Archway Professional will work with communities across the state, local employers, and UGA students and partners to facilitate meaningful summer internship experiences. The Rural Internship Archway Professional is key to ensuring that the Archway Partnership process of community engagement and outreach provides rewarding experiences for local stakeholders, student experiential learning, and faculty scholarship.

The position carries rank in the public service faculty career ladder of the University of Georgia at the Public Service Assistant level. This is a statewide position and requires the ability to travel to locations across Georgia during the day, in the evening, and on weekends as needed. Duties/Responsibilities

1.Serve as primary point of contact for communities, local employers, UGA students, UGA Career Center, J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, and other UGA partners involved with developing and implementing new rural internship program.

2.Gradually expand rural internship program to serve more students, employers, and communities.

3.Recruit students and employers to participate in summer internships each year.

4.Seek cross-campus partnerships and opportunities in collaboration with University of Georgia Schools, Colleges, and Public Service & Outreach (PSO) units, in addition to networking with key state agencies, regional partnerships, non-profit agencies, professional trade organizations, and corporate partners with a mission to cultivate and strengthen these relationships.

5.Demonstrate partnership, collaboration, and community engagement best practices and principles.

6.Coordinate student experiential learning and faculty research during community programs or projects.

7.Document activities and program impact through a variety of evaluation mechanisms.

8.Position local partnerships, programs, and projects for marketing and promotional media opportunities.

9.Work with grants and development to secure funds to sustain and expand the rural internship program.

10. Participate in scholarship and grants as commensurate with a public service faculty position.
