PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
As the Technical Strategy and Architecture Manager you will report into the CTO organization. You will be focused on leading the execution of key projects related to the execution of the technical strategy for SuccessFactors as well as ensuring efforts associated with Enterprise Architecture are completed and communicated to the broader engineering community.
Your team for many of the efforts will largely be participants from the CTO organization as well as individuals that report into engineering, operations and potentially product management. The projects will be focused on efforts to drive transformational change in technology (e.g. public cloud, ci/cd, devops, quality, availability, web services and APIs) as well as putting more rigor into technology decision making and enterprise architecture governance.
As a Technical Strategy and Architecture Manager, your job duties will include:
Responsible for advancing projects related to the organization's technical strategies. Will require leading various work efforts, some large and some small, with participants that will likely be matrixed across the organization. Responsible for ensuring completion of project goals (scope, quality, budget, time).
Provide stakeholder management, ensure transparency on project status, active alignment with stakeholders, ensures timely escalation
Drive technology related partner and strategic relationships for the organization
Build action plans and provide guidance on operating mechanisms, tactics and resources critical to ensuring the broader organizations delivery against the technical strategy.
Drives the execution of key enterprise architecture focused initiatives that are important to the success of the overall technical strategy. This may include driving completion of standard technology related dashboards, KPIs, etc
Participate and sponsor initiatives that drive a culture of engineering excellence across the organization as well as driving commitment to the technology strategy
Required experience and qualification:
10+ years' industry experience
5+ years' experience managing teams and/or leading large cross functional initiatives
B.S. Computer Science or equivalent work experience with software development
Proven track record of delivering complex efforts with a matrixed virtual team
Experience and familiarity with driving transformational change efforts; public clouds (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), web services, and modern software development (e.g. CI/CD, DevOps);
Familiarity with enterprise architecture and architectural governance practices
Familiarity with Agile practices
Ability to learn new products and driven to understand new technology concepts
Excellent problem-solving skills, can triage and resolve issues without supervision
High standards for execution and delivery and is comfortable in driving clarity when there is a lot of ambiguity
Strong work ethics, driven, dependable, and responsible
Team player, proactive networking attributes, results and execution focused, self-starter
Willingness and ability to learn quickly new Big Data and Cloud Analytics solutions
High energy, clear goal orientation and strong work ethics; "can do" attitude
