JOB SUMMARY The Architecture Entertainment Newbuild Manager oversees large-scale newbuild projects focusing on entertainment and public space design. This role manages the interior, architectural, and theatrical infrastructure design aspects from conception through construction and delivery, ensuring projects meet specifications, budget constraints, and schedules.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluate and coordinate the architectural and interior design of passenger ship entertainment spaces, working closely with Technical Entertainment, internal stakeholders, architects, and entertainment consultants to ensure cohesive and functional design. Organize and lead project meetings, fostering effective communication among shipbuilders, architects, consultants, and the project team. Provide clear and decisive leadership throughout all project phases.
Thoroughly review drawings and specifications submitted by shipbuilders, architects, and designers, ensuring they meet functionality, operational needs, and budget constraints. Develop and maintain detailed project timelines and schedules. Identify and manage critical paths and key milestones to ensure projects stay on track and meet deadlines.
Conduct comprehensive research on entertainment trends, including venue development, design, technology advancements, audience preferences, and creative innovations. Report findings to New Build executive management to inform decision-making. Apply extensive knowledge of entertainment/theatrical infrastructure, both front and back of house, and relevant technologies to guide design decisions and ensure optimal performance.
Work closely with Entertainment Production and Operations business owners to align design and functionality with entertainment and brand requirements. Collaborate with the Technical Entertainment team to assess feasibility before finalizing selections. Prepare and present detailed status reports to New Build executive management, providing clear updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements, including USPH and ADA standards, ensuring all designs comply with necessary regulations and best practices. Familiarize yourself with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS. Implement and uphold the policies and procedures relevant to your position.
Monitor and manage Capital Expenditure Budgets for Owner Furnished Material, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with project goals. Perform other job-related functions as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS DEGREE TYPE:
Bachelor's Degree FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Technical Entertainment or Theatrical Production or any relevant background and experience. EXPERIENCE 5 years' experience in Entertainment or Technical Production roles.
Minimum of 2 years' management experience working on large scale projects in the cruise ship industry. COMPETENCIES/SKILLS Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders. Strong proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, AutoCAD, and Apple Mac systems.
High degree of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments, demonstrating flexibility and resilience. Work collaboratively with others, fostering a positive and cooperative team environment. In-depth knowledge of entertainment technologies applicable to cruise ships and land-based projects, ensuring cutting-edge and innovative solutions.
