Functional responsibility for managing the Architectural/Engineering (AE) scope & services for the retail buildings including but not limited to prototype documents, project specific drawing reviews, change management/value engineering process, project schedule development and interface and communication with others to ensure the final product is consistent, timely and accurate to company standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Drawing Reviews

  • Conducts meetings with the architect, national account vendors and other departments like construction, development, store planning, etc. to review project specific documents to ensure they are current and accurate as per company design standards for the construction of store projects resulting in minimal error and omissions.

Prototype Document Management

  • Conducts meetings with the architect, national account vendors and other departments like construction, development, store planning. etc. to ensure the prototype documents are accurate as per company design standards. Ensures the drawing archives are accurate and orderly and the architects of record submit the project closeout information in a timely manner.

Interface and Communication

  • Develops a relationship and communicates regularly with the architects, national account vendors and other departments like construction, development, store planning, facilities, visual merchandising, IT, etc. to resolve project specific and prototype document issues/questions.

Change Management/Value Engineering

  • Prepares Request for Changes (RC's) and Design Revision Bulletin's (DRB's) for management approval then implementation into the project specific and prototype documents in a timely manner as not to negatively impact the project cost and schedule. Supports the research and develops value engineering initiatives to reduce building cost.

Project Scheduling

  • Develops milestone schedules for site specific projects and ongoing tracking of the process deadlines.

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture

Experience Requirement

  • 5 - 7 Years

Strong planning background with a national retail chain or architectural firm responsible for the AE process.

Technological Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Advanced AutoCAD

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of AE processes

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Requires a working knowledge of architecture/design, planning and construction

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects.

Jointly operated by GE Healthcare, Nokia, and UPMC, the Center engages health care leaders from across the country in discussions on the future of health care. The Center for Connected Medicine is currently looking for a full-time Graphic/Digital Designer and Technical Support Specialist for its location at UPMC Headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh. This position will be a key player in ensuring member companies are represented appropriately throughout the center and externally from a design and technical perspective. Working closely with senior leadership, the designer and tech specialist will be responsible for projects and support that may include any of the following: website development and design, print and digital collateral design, brand management, PowerPoint design, social media graphics and AV Technical IT support for events and meetings. Responsibilities: * Act as backup for the corporate technical support team as needed. * Technical IT Support: Willingness and desire to learn complex audio-visual systems. * Participate in, and facilitate, meetings as required. * Communicate timelines, specs and needs effectively to ensure timely delivery of assets. * Assist in executing a variety of assets including campaigns, digital design assets, social and web content, digital and printed marketing collateral and presentations. * Follow and maintain brand identity characteristics, typography, photography, color etc., evolving when necessary. * Graphic/Digital Design :Designing and developing graphic concepts mainly for the Center for Connected Medicine and its partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, in graphic design, visual communications, or related field preferred. 5 years of experience in graphic/digital design Additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Strong knowledge of web/digital, print design and production. Strong understanding of WordPress development, themes, design and hosting. Experience with building PowerPoint templates and presentations. Familiarity with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and PowerPoint Proficiency in CSS3, PHP, HTML5 and JavaScript is a plus Strong graphic design portfolio Familiarity with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience. Possesses a general ability for troubleshooting of computers and electronics. Strong project coordination skills Health care IT experience preferred. Agency experience preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, apply exquisite attention to detail, and develop and maintain collegial and collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, external contacts and senior leadership. Ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, but also able to take direction. Ability to direct the work of others when appropriate Ability to work proactively to anticipate, troubleshoot, and avert problems Ability to engage and interact with high-level executives.
