The candidate must address at least two of the "Inclusive Excellence Criteria". Have experience teaching architecture design studios at the post-secondary education level.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will demonstrate a capacity in a majority of the following:

  • Experience teaching or potential to teach building construction, structural and/or environmental systems, sustainable and preservation practices.

  • Experience in the coordination of students and faculty in a design studio and/or student advising, student research or student club activities.

  • Evidence of advancing academic knowledge and/or practice of architecture through research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.

  • Licensed to practice architecture or on the path to licensure in the United States.

  • Record of service on university committees, and/or service to the discipline of architecture and/or professional organizations, and/or community organizations.

  • Statement of how the candidate meets the minimum and preferred qualifications. The statement should address each qualification separately and in the same order as listed in the description of the position above (2 pages maximum).

  • A Student Success Statement (up to 2 pages, single-spaced) that responds to the prompt above - "Inclusive Excellence and Student Success" and addresses at least two of the inclusive excellence criteria listed (please indicate the criteria numbers in your Statement).

  • Curriculum Vitae indicating the candidate's relevant experiences such as presentations, publications, grants, awards, professional experience, community and academic service and credentials.

  • Portfolio (PDF format - no links please) with research, creative and/or scholarly works, teaching examples, and any other achievements relevant to the position (25 MB max)

  • Contact information (telephone and email) of three individuals who can speak to the candidate's potential for success in this position.

  • An unofficial transcript confirming the highest degree earned (official transcripts will be required of finalists)

Finalists for the position will be required to

  • Provide official transcripts for highest degree before the on-campus interview;

  • Provide three letters of reference (dated within the last 12 months)

  • Participate in an on-campus visit which will include interviews, a presentation to faculty and students on the candidate's research, scholarly, professional, and teaching interests and achievements, and a teaching demonstration.

Salary range for academic year, nine-month position $86,000 - $88,700.
