Architectural Technologist - Autocad

• Commercial Project Technical work: Oversee the development of detailed AutoCAD drawings for commercial projects such as retail spaces, office buildings, and hospitality venues. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Create and Manage Design Documentation: Produce detailed architectural and structural drawings, integrating client requirements, building codes, and industry standards into commercial project designs. Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Utilize Advanced AutoCAD Skills: Employ advanced AutoCAD techniques to develop 2D and 3D models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Perform quality checks on all drawings to maintain high standards and adherence to relevant codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients to develop innovative design solutions for commercial spaces. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and address any changes or challenges that arise.
• Solve Design Problems: Analyze complex design problems specific to commercial projects and develop practical and innovative solutions. Identify potential design issues and propose corrective actions to ensure project success.
• Integrate Software and Technology: Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD versions and features relevant to commercial design. Integrate AutoCAD with other design tools, such as Revit and SketchUp, to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Document and Report Project Progress: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, design changes, and as-built drawings. Generate reports and presentations to communicate design progress and outcomes to clients and stakeholders

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or related,  with at least 7 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting and design, focused on commercial projects. Proven track record in leading and managing small and large-scale commercial design projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, with advanced skills in 2D and 3D modeling for commercial projects. Familiarity with other CAD software such as Revit and SketchUp is a plus. Strong understanding of commercial building codes, standards, and design principles.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a commercial project context. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client interaction.
• Certifications: AutoCAD certification is preferred. Additional certifications related to commercial design or project management are advantageous.
