We are Jaeckle Distributors, a Wisconsin based business to business flooring and surfacing Distribution Company and we have a great opening for an Architectural Specification Consultant in the Minneapolis market and surrounding communities.

WHAT will I do in this role?

We are searching for someone with the ability to craft technical, "substitution-proof" specifications and follow them throughout the bidding and ordering cycle.

Our Architectural Specification Consultants typically have many projects moving through different phases of the sales cycle concurrently.

WHAT skills do I need to have to be successful in this role?

Beyond stellar sales skills, the ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: Strong, experience-based understanding of the A&D community; proven success working with architects, contractors, designers, design-build, developers, facility owners and other specifiers.

In-depth knowledge of specifiers' needs, requirements, and concerns, and the ability to offer creative solutions to their challenges. You must know how to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

A qualified candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to fully utilize our CRM software and other technologies.

You truly enjoy working in a collaborative environment with engaging team members throughout the organization - Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations - to accomplish a common goal.

Three consecutive years of proven outside sales experience.

Experience working with designers and architects.

A positive attitude and are driven to perform in a competitive sales environment.

What You Will Do: * Participate on new product development teams providing research, guidance and recommendations regarding new parts, specifications and bill of material structure. * Work closely with Engineers, Operations, Marketing and Procurement to understand equipment requirements, timeline and impact of implementation. * Classify new parts, write/verify technical part descriptions for completeness, accuracy and ensure consistency. * Implement engineering change management activities for Ecolab equipment designs. * Write clear and accurate Engineering Change Request/Order (ECR/ECO) descriptions detailing the equipment changes, the reason for change, and the impact on inventory. * Update specification documents per requirements. * Use product lifecycle management software to document all ECRs/ECOs, parts, specs, bills of materials and literature from creation through obsolescence.
