We are looking for an Architectural Historian to join our team in New Cumberland, PA! This important role assists the firm's clients by identifying and evaluating historic properties in compliance with Federal and state historic preservation laws and guidelines.

Salary Range:
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Range for the position is: $28.00 to $35.00 an hour.
Job Responsibilities:
Support clients with Section 106 and 110 activities of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, As Amended, utilizing regulations found at 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 800 - Protection of Historic Properties.
Identify, research, and record historic buildings, structures, districts, and objects within an Area of Potential Effect.
Prepare all levels of survey forms in compliance with the state historic preservation office (SHPO) and transportation department reporting guidelines.
Assess the eligibility of historic properties for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, utilizing criteria published by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, and provide recommendations on same to responsible Federal and state agencies.
Complete photography in compliance with the National Park Service photography standards.
Prepare eligibility reports, determination of effects forms, determination of effects reports and memos, alternatives analyses, and other documentation related to a project and client's needs, according to applicable state guidelines.
Conduct archival and secondary research in support of projects.
Work with other disciplines, including any departments of archaeology, environmental, landscape architecture, planning and engineering to integrate the consideration of cultural resources into project development and execution.
Attend client meetings and represent Navarro & Wright.
Position Requirements
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications for this position correspond to the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Historian. These are as follows:
A graduate degree in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or a closely related field, with coursework in American architectural history; OR
A bachelor's degree in architectural history, art, history, historic preservation, or a closely related field PLUS one of the following:
At least two years of full-time experience in research, writing, or teaching in American architectural history or restoration architecture with an academic institution, historical organization or agency, museum, or other professional institution, OR
Substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American architectural history.
A valid Driver's License is required, since the employee is required to travel to job sites and document archives.
