Our Architectural Design Specialist will provide you with an opportunity to work with our internal network of engineers and architects designing facilities for the Federal Government and related institutions. The person in this position will help develop and implement our CAD Standards and BIM capabilities. Working with other members of the team, you will develop design packages using Revit and other software. You will generate design analyses, construction drawings, and support on site charrettes with our clients. This person will lead other CAD Designers with Clash Detection exercises and will ensure that new technologies are implemented. U.S. Citizen with current Driver's License (US State)
High School or Trade School or Associates Degree
Minimum of 15 years of experience of related architectural design
Proficiency using AutoCAD.
Proficiency using REVIT
Minimum of 10 years of experience producing building architectural design packages using Revit
Has architectural discipline focus and demonstrates ability to apply technical skills to discipline design.
Accesses and applies design principles specific to the architectural discipline.
Proficiency in discipline-specific 3D modeling tools, and producing associated 2D construction document packages using Revit.
Takes responsibility for their portion of the discipline's scope, schedule and budget.
Ability to support work for/in other offices which may include travel.
Provide design services through all phases of the project with frequent client interaction.
Develop construction documentation and plans.
Ability to oversee implementation of BIM software and to train others in the use of BIM Technology.
Ability to support all design disciplines with CAD Design and Drafting.
Ability to produce designs on other platforms beyond Revit, including AutoCAD, Microstation, Navisworks, and 3D Studio Max.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience generating design documents to adhere to Federal A/E/C CAD standards.
Some knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including IBC, ADAAG and NFPA
Experience working with remote offices for design production.
Proficiency using Sketchup and Photoshop.
Ability to set up projects on existing computer networks for multi-discipline design production
Experience with setting up internal tools and standards for Revit production
Strong written and verbal skill set.
Ability to organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects.
Ability to work a part of a design team consisting of local and remote team members.
Ability to travel (estimated travel time is 10%)
