HFA is in search of a highly skilled Architect Level II to join our Logistics, Warehousing, and Light Industrial team at HFA, located in Northwest Arkansas (NWA). The role has direct client interface and is reqiured to meet with them face-to-face therefore, proximity in NWA is required.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional client-facing abilities, exemplary communication skills, and a knack for meticulous organization. We seek an individual with high proficiency in project management platforms (like ERP) and a medium level of proficency with Revit.

The successful candidate will be a licensed professional architect and have approximately 8-12 years of industry experience, the individual should be fully capable of fulfilling the responsibilities outlined below.

These duties include performing architectural assignments with a focus on construction document production, coordinating with regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals for construction, and contributing to construction administration tasks under the supervision of the Design Team Lead for training and development purposes. Upholding ethical standards and codes of professional conduct is paramount.

The Architect Level II should demonstrate proficiency in delivering completed construction documents across various client and project types, while providing a high level of service throughout all design phases. Moreover, they should effectively communicate their expertise internally and externally when addressing design challenges or projects. This role involves directing the Design Team in research, development, and drafting of construction documents, as well as independently investigating, evaluating, and recommending architectural design solutions for complex problems.

With a comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures, the Architect Level II ensures the supervision of design work and holds architectural registration with current licensure, ideally with NCARB registration.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs architectural assignments focused on construction document production and coordination with regulatory authorities to gain necessary approval for construction.

  • Work may include construction administration tasks leading to project completion, under supervision of Design Team Lead, for training and development purposes.

  • Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct.

  • Architect can work, in an independent manner, to deliver completed construction documents on most client and/or project types, as well as, provide high level of service for all phases of design.

  • Architect can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.

  • Direct Design Team in research, development, and drafting of construction documents to support client building programs.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend architectural design solutions and independently make decisions on complex architectural design problems and methods.

  • Work will include all aspects of construction administration leading to project completion.

  • Understands implications of policies and procedures to ensure supervision of design work by architect in responsible control

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Mentor, direct and supervise team members

  • Efficiently produce accurate construction documents with minimal supervision by reviewing own work

  • Develop specifications writing and compiling skills

  • Conduct building code analysis and research regulatory requirements to determine design constraints

  • Communicate and present design options and alternates to clients

  • Work with municipalities to secure entitlements and building permits

  • Respond to Contractor Requests for Information

  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent

  • Complete field reports to document observations during construction

  • Review results from field reports, third-party inspectors, and other test results for conformance with contract documents

  • Expanded management responsible for staff and projects

  • Monitor performance of design team consultants

  • Perform quality control review of junior staff work product

  • Establish project milestones with Design Team Leads

  • Direct Designer job duties

  • Perform quality control review of team members work product

  • Conduct periodic progress meetings with Design Team

  • Work with Design Team Leads to establish fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals for assigned projects

Qualifications

Management Requirements: 4+ Staff

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in architecture or 8-12 years industry experience or capable of covering the responsibilities and duties above

Licensure Requirements: Architectural registration with current licensure, NCARB registration

preferred; LEED Green Associate accreditation desired
