Architect - Retail - Senior

Your Role

As a Gensler Architect in Oakland's Lifestyle Studio, it's your job to lead the development of retail architectural projects for a variety of clients. Leverage your technical acumen and industry experience to drive client projects from concept through build.

What You Will Do

• Manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, etc.

• Manage client relationships and team communication

• Resolve complex technical and design issues with team to produce innovative technical/constructible solutions

• Direct production of drawings, specifications and construction administration tasks

• Maintain the project manual and specifications

• Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews

• Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI

• Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture

• Must be a licensed architect in the State of California

• 10+ years of related experience, with a range of retail project types (both interior and exterior projects), food and beverage experience a plus.

• Experience with Revit (required), Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office

• Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures

• Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done

• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills

• LEED accreditation and experience preferred

The base salary will be estimated between $118,000 - $140,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
