As an Architect at DLR Group you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project document development and coordinating with all project team members to maintain the quality of the work product within the established project schedule for large complex projects. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for managing, with assistance from a Project Manager, all aspects of the project document development and coordinating with all project team members to produce quality work product while adhering to project schedules. This position is client facing and will require presenting and selling services. Additionally, you'll collaborate with Project Manager to support client needs and maintain financial health of the project.

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with the Hi-Ed team to identify new project opportunities, lead/participate in relationship building with clients to capture new work, lead/participate in RFQ process & interviews for new project opportunities

  • Collaborate with the National Higher Education Practice to leverage all firm resources, disciplines, and thought leaders.

  • Collaborate with Regional Sector Leader to develop annual sector business plan.

  • Successfully collaborate with Integrated Design Practice.

  • Meet with clients to provide propose projects and provide knowledge of services

  • Identify and proposes technical solutions to design challenges to the team and client

  • Provide technical feedback in the conceptual development of project documents

  • Produce accurate documents aligned with firm standards for project assignments

  • Apply practice standards to project assignments

  • Communicate to Project Manager the progress of assignments according to the established project schedule and workplan

  • Ensure project information is incorporated into project documents

  • Participate in in-house training activities to further develop skills and abilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience as an Architect

  • 8-10 years experience in Higher Education market, specifically in Arizona

  • Licensed Architect in Arizona

  • Technical knowledge in architectural modeling and design

  • Construction administration experience

  • Must be a strong communicator, collaborative, detail oriented and organized

  • Have a bachelors degree in Architecture or related design field

  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have experience in the use of computer modeling and rendering software such as REVIT and CAD.

  • Have an interest & experience in sustainable design.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaborative and professional work ethic

Responsibilities include working with senior management, relationship managers and credit to originate, monitor and grow HHN relationships. Accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals and annual reviews, coordination of pricing, and for revenue growth, cross-sell and relationship profitability. Manages and promotes the maintenance of a portfolio that adheres to all applicable credit policies and compliance requirements. Works with clients directly to understand credit needs and represents the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships. May periodically assist with office risk management duties and managing overall account relationships. Responsibilities may also include training, supervision and/or mentoring of analysts or junior portfolio managers.
