Job Description

DLZ is seeking a qualified Sr. Architect / Architectural Project Manager for an immediate opening in our Columbus, OH office.


  • Perform architectural and design assignments of a complex nature, applying innovative architectural design concepts and advanced professional knowledge.

  • Takes a lead role in design of projects where complex, multi-faceted, and coordinated architectural work is required.

  • Manage a wide variety of project type, scale and complexities

  • Establish design direction, develop technical drawings and specifications, and direct overall project schedule and budget.

  • Coordinate all client contact and maintain working relationship at all levels throughout the project.

  • Serve as single point of contact for the owner and design team

  • Responsible for quality control over the complete project.

  • Assist in business development.

  • Meet cost and time schedules while producing quality results.

  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.

  • Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.


  • Bachelor or Masters of Architecture Degree

  • Registered Architect in the state of Ohio or the ability to obtain license within one year

  • 5 or more years relevant work experience

  • Judicial, Municipal, Educational, and/or Federal Project experience preferred!

  • Strong Revit skills required

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills

  • Experience in a variety of project types, scale and complexity; following project from conception through completion.

  • Experience working on concurrent projects, collaborating with multiple design disciplines, and technical production project experience.

Principle Accountabilities: * Participate in enterprise IT technology strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development. * Provide strategic consultation to LOB & LOB relationship owners in defining future-state business solution portfolio as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on business needs. * Consult with key business-facing projects on technology strategy alignment and major design options. * Participate in enterprise architecture development, including business, information, technical architectures and application portfolio architecture for the assigned LOB(s). * Seek ways to apply new technology and existing technology to improve business outcomes; research and provide information on technical trends and industry practices relevant to assigned LOB customers. * Understand, advocate and support AEP enterprise IT strategies. * Provide analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solution options for improvement. * Lead analysis of IT technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on business outcomes. * Promote and communicate the EA vision, value, methodology, outcomes and results to the organization, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders. * Participate in the evaluation and selection of IT Enterprise Architecture standards.
